I turn the switch and nothing. Not even hot air comes out. I've checked the fuses & they are ok. Is it the relay switch or the replacement resistors. Am I screwed? Any suggestions would be helpful.

Might need to look at the fan motor. Most are mounted under the hood against the firewall. If you run a "hot wire" from the battery to the fan motor (have to pull the plug or boot off) and touch it to the terminal it should run. This would eliminate the fan motor and move us back to the switch inside the console.

They do fail from time to time and have to be replaced. If you don't want to pull your dashboard apart or pay dealer prices you can install your own switch. You can install an on-off switch on the highest setting or two separate switches for two separate speeds or one variable speed switch.

Not as difficult as it sounds and you can mount the switch anywhere inside the cockpit.

Good Luck!

if fuses are ok, then it can be 3 things, relay switch, frayed wire from heat, or fan motor, have an electrician check those things, its easy to find the fault with a multimeter...the switch and wires are not expensive, if it is your fan, depending on your VW model the price will vary...
Good luck.

If you can, find where the blower motor is and check to see if there is voltage getting to the motor. If there is, then the motor is bad. If there isn't, work your way backwards. If you have power coming into the switch and nothing going out to the motor, then the switch is bad.
