I'd like Arnold Schwarzenegger to become president. Or possibly David Beckham, if he can show some government experience (city council maybe?).

Or better yet, a Schwarzenegger-Beckham ticket.

So, how do I do this?

You think a soccer professional without any political experience should be president?

I sure hope you don't EVER vote...

Fuzzy:

You need to learn the law or else how to express yourself. Arnold is a citizen. He is a Naturalized Citizen. The Constitution requires that the President be a Natural Born Citizen.

Then you want to "repeal the law". Again inappropriate. The Law of the Land, The Constitution, is subject to amendment but unless you want to repeal the whole Constitution you are barking up the wrong tree.

I don't know what grade you are in but if it more than about 4th or 5th you need to find a lawyer and sue the schools you have attended because they failed you miserably.

BTW, Constitutional amendments start in Congress. Type out what you want, get as many signatures as you can and send them to your elected officials in Washington DC. Then sit back and wait for 10 or 15 years. It will take that long if everything goes smoothly.

Good luck.

I don't have a clue, but maybe this is a start for you? I think Arnold should be able to run...isn't Beckham that soccer player that came over from England? Why would you want him in office as he's only been here for a short time and what does he know about running a country?

Schwarzenegger, already is a U. S. Citizen.
However he is what's called a "Naturalized" citizen which simply means he legally immigrated to the U. S. , passed all the requirements for becoming a U.S. citizen, and then took a "U.S. Citizenship test", to determine that he knew enough about American history, to become a 'Naturalized' U. S. citizen.

However, the Constitution specifically states that "ONLY" citizens 'Born' in the U.S. may become president.

To change this "LAW" a new law must be initiated, passed by congress, passed by the senate, and approved by the president, to nullify the Constitutional Law.

You would have to change the Constitution. Our forefathers of this country in my opinion were very open minded concerning the Constitution. Granted it has been amended and tweaked but that is the way it was designed.
I think the claus for being a natural born citizen should stay as it is.

You can open a web-site that has a petition fill in page and after you approach the number of responses that you need to get a amendment to the Constitution, then you send out canvassers to collect the signatures.

You also ask for donations to your cause and use the donations for office, meal and transportation expenses.

Its not a law. Its part of the Constitution. It was passed in 1776. To change that would require an amendment to the Constitution that would change it.

If your gonna change that why not simply have the Constitution rewritten?

I think Arnie would make a good president but that does not mean he can.

You're going to need a constituional amendment for that. I believe there are already some in Congress who support such an amendment. If memory served one was Orrin Hatch of Utah

Arnold Schwarzenegger is a US citizen. He's just not a natural-born citizen. This is why he's ineligible.

no longer especially i locate myself in finished contract with the replier ¨sage-an...¨(someplace above me) who continuously makes a stable case for any opinion expressed. As issues stand,a newborn born on an Indian Reservation, enable's say in Arizona or Florida, can by no skill be the president of the U.S. because of the fact, technically, Reservations are no longer U.S. soil. MEG(slightly below me): i'm sorry to would desire to superb you yet basically an American born on U.S. soil can develop into the president. i comprehend. it is strictly my own case and that of my brothers and sisters and somewhat some different individuals with whom I grew up and went to college with in distinctive international places. Please examine what I wrote re MacArthur. I stated his SON,no longer he himself. It replaced into his son who could no longer ever run for president.
