For many years it was valuing my children more than myself - which seems natural enough. And after they were off, it was caring for the First Mate - and now it's vertigo etc. So I long ago decided it made more sense to like what you are doing than trying always to do what you like. It works very well, I find. Now all those I have cared for care for me. What could be better?

Hi Moon,
I think it's a question of priorities and unfortunately what I would like to do comes quite low on the list. However I DO keep visiting this site and my friends on YA every now and again while doing my work so in a way, that's an indulgence.
Priorities currently are my work (the biggest one), family, commitments to the community (and they are increasing!) home, friends and then if there's a tiny bit of time left: me. I would love to curl up and lose myself in a good book, or finish the painting I started at Christmas or continue researching my family tree, or write a fictional novel ... but there's just too much else to do at the moment!

For me? Mostly? Lack of money but, in another way, and at the same time, a need to have some money to continue existing...if that makes a lick of sense at all. Also, a willingness to meet a successful end that involved arduous means. Lastly, self-made and external obligations and responsibilities...

Right now? It's school assignment.. and Saturday classes..
But, I start to like the assignment too now.. :-)

What has been keeping me from doing what I like.....you! :-) lol! I've wanted to add you back as my contact but you had us/me blocked out and couldn't add you back. lol! Silly girl! lol! Finally was able to this fri, evening. :-) But to really answer you're question...I've been really busy lately and haven't had the time to be able to do many of the things I like. I was able to get that photo I wanted you to see. There's a link to it on my open question. Things I think are finally getting back to normal so I should be able to get back to doing what I like.
