Is it good? Hell yes it is!
It is completely redesigned, although it continues with its distinctive and easily-recognized sharp-edged styling, the new CTS is slightly larger than those competitors. It's a mid-size car, where the others are classified as compacts.
That means more interior space, especially for rear-seat passengers.
Nevertheless, this is an American high-performance sedan that makes no apologies or excuses. An owner will not have any feelings of inferiority in brag sessions with friends who own imports.

The Cadillac brand receives overall reliability ratings that are among the best on our firm's latest 2007 Vehicle Dependability Study, which measures problems experienced by the original owners of 3-year-old models (2004 model year).
As for the CTS, it is a stalwart performer, according to our customer satisfaction studies and is the luxury sedan that helped begin Cadillac's renaissance. However, the CTS has been completely redesigned for 2008. It receives a new exterior and interior, a new 6-speed transmission, all-wheel drive, more features, and more performance.
We have customer satisfaction information on the '07 and earlier models from our studies. The '07 CTS is one of the top three ranking models in the entry premium car segment in our firm's Initial Quality Study (IQS), which measures the overall quality of a new vehicle after the first three months of ownership. Interior and Accessory Quality is considered better than most, according to our firm's ratings. and fuel efficiency is above average. One of our research group members also looked up quality ratings for an 2005 and 2003 CTS. Accolades. Overall mechanical quality ratings were among the best for the CTS in both of those years. Feature and accessory mechnaical quality also was among the best and so was the powertrain. However, these models received average ratings for the design of the body and quality of the interior.
The CTS also perform well in national safety crash tests, receiving only 4 and 5 star ratings. For more information about Cadillac and the CTS, in addition to reviews, specs, photos, pricing and quality ratings, please visit JDPower.com.

Well, Cadillacs don't have the best reliability, but I'd choose it over a Mercedes any day because Mercedes have horrible reliability. The CTS is supposed to bet one of Cadillac's better cars. It is recommended by Consumer Reports, but the Lexus IS has the highest level of recommendation and gets a significantly higher rating- Lexus also has the best reliability and retains its value better. I'd get a Lexus or Acura.

I have owned many Cads. Vettes, and Lincolns.Although I have to drive pickups now, I can honestly say that Cads. are by far one of the most superior cars on the road. I don't believe ththey are as good as the older ones but have, with few exception, kept their standards high. They get superior gas mileage, fewer breakdowns, and are not bad at resale value. One testimonil. My first new Caddy was a black 1967
El Dorado that I drove regularly on a 100 mile trip through a back rd. in Nevada at around 125 miles per hour and it got, if anyone believes me 31 M.P.G. It had over 300.000 miles on it when I got rid of it because a mechanic didn't tighten the wheel lugs on one side, the wheel came off around 100 M.P.H. and destroyed too much to be worth fixing. Should have fixed and kept it. Bob

Cadillac is a good brand ,switching back to RWD with their new models.that saved their *** because all the front wheel drive bullshit they made in the 90's was nothing but crap. those couldn't outlast a dodge spirit on steroids , but they made good and hopefully they keep it that way
