Try coin collecting. It doesn't have to cost you a lot. You can go to the bank and pick of a box of coin (whichever denomination you like) for exactly face value. A box of pennies is $25, a box of nickels is $100, a box of dimes is $250 and boxes of half dollars or quarters are $500. The bank can pull out just $100 for you and you wouldn't have to buy all $500 if you didn't want to.

Once you get a box, you can go through and pull out the better coins (there are books to help with this or websites). You can pick up a coin book and try to fill all the holes or just search for interesting ones.

The coins that you don't want can be returned to the bank and put straight back into your account (though it's often better to return the coins to a different bank (not just a different branch but a different bank) so that you don't search the same boxes over and over). So you get most of your money back and you could then get another box.

Also check your change for interesting finds.

Some things to search for: wheat pennies, silver dimes, silver quarters, old coins, error coins, etc. There's always the chance that you could find a real treasure!

It's also helpful to buy a red book. It can help you price your coins and will answer many of the questions you may have.

OR IF THAT'S NOT FOR YOU...

You could:
read a book
learn a craft (there are many different types of crafts to choose from)
take up stamp collecting
play with friends
join the scouts or a similar organisation
give your parents a hand around the house
write a story
read someone a story
write a letter (not an email)
build a go-cart
ride a bike
plant and harvest some vegies
bake a cake
learn to use a camera

I guess it depends on your age and what your parents would allow you to do but there are many things you could do away from the computer. :)

Go and volunteer for something, join the fire brigade perhaps. I'm sure if you google your town you'll be able to find a list of hobby groups in your area. Or look in the local paper. I'm not a fan of sports either, but am enjoying learning rapier through my SCA involvement. (http://www.sca.org) Go to your local library and browse through the craft section. Learn to weave (yes that is a manly thing to do.) I know a guy who made his own floor loom and actually wove the fabric he used to make his favourite pair of pants. Take a class, learn woodworking or something. A library is full of interesting ideas, if you can't find something there, you might as well stay home on the computer.

volunteer your time. Meet new people. go for a walk. join a gym. get involved in a politcal campaign. go to a book reading. go to a wine tasting if you are old enough. go to a movie, the theatre.. explore fall fairs in your community. the world awaits you!
