My daughter squashed her banana all over the PC (yesterday ... and yes her father was "babysitting"). I find some of the keys quite hard to press, can I do it myself or get someone to do it ... how much (roughly) ???

You can pop off each key with a nail file or pocketknife (or any flat and relatively short utensil) and clean thoroughly around each key with a *dry* q-tip (you can use a little alcohol as needed, as well, but not much). As long as the vegetable matter has not entered the key-press sensor you should be able to put the keys back on and have the keyboard work fine. If the actual sensor has been compromised by the banana, the particular key will probably not work reliably and it may affect the overall performance of the keyboard (but from your description it doesn't sound like that has happened). Of course, you can always buy a new one for $10 or less if you need.

Resist the temptation to pop the keys off, your keyboard will never be the same. I suggest lots of Q-Tips and a little 91% isopropyl alchohol. Shut down the computer and remove the battery before starting, and let it dry thoroughly before reconnecting. Good luck!

if your handy with a screwdriver, just pop the bottom off so you can get to all the grime underneath (my keyboard is see through, and at the moment looks like a crumb tray...mmm...)

a damp cloth is fine...no need for soaps and stuff...

a little squirt with anitbacterial is a good idea...i think the statistic is 'there is four times as much germs on your keyboard then your toilet seat'

if your lazy (like me), the dishwasher is the preferred method

You should wet a cotton cloth and clean the upper surface but first if you have an electric blur you should blur the key board.

Wear comfy shoes in order to take meetings for a walk as an alternative to sitting at a desk.

Don’t finish every last morsel in your plate, but leave a mouthful or perhaps two. This clever little technique means your host doesn’t deliver to refill your plate, so you don’t feel tempted to select seconds.

Get scrubbing up! Give your maid the day off and provide your pad a good fresh. You’ll be amazed at the way fast you banish those bingo wings.
