A screw extractor will work, but you will still have to drill into it to use it.
If your lucky, you might be able to hammer a lil bit into it with a robertson screw driver or a slot.
If the screw is out a bit you may be able to use pliers to keep turning it or vice grips.
Other option is to drill out the screw and re tap it, and use a different screw.

I assume you mean the head of the screw is stripped and not the threads on the body of the screw.
You can grab the head of the screw with a set of "Vice-Grips" and twist it out.
They sell replacement screws for most cars at auto parts places or if you have a special screw for your car you can get it at the dealership.
Good Luck!

Get a Vise Grip pair of pliers. Attach it to the screw head perpendicular to the screw. ADJUST THE PLIERS SO THAT YOU HAVE TO REALLY PRESS HARD ON IT to close. Grab the pliers with one hand near the bottom while you place the other hand near the top of the pliers and turn counter-clockwise. The screw should start to turn

If possible, take a small punch and put it as far on the outside of the scerw head as possible and strike with a hammer. Sometimes that sudden jold will get them turning enough to grab with something else like vice grips.

there are plastic body nuts that hold the screw in if you carefully heat up the screw you can pull it out with a pair of pliers, then just replace the body nut. Less that a buck
