The "Pros" are, -it helps to keep the weak & fearful under the thumbs of the Authorities... The "Cons" are- it's the Ultimate in Hypocracy because it "empowers" people to be afraid of their own "Shadows" -while some Regional "Higher Authority" calls the "shots". Simply put, it's a Scam.

Pros - those nifty religious police. You know, the ones that stone people that break moral laws . . . that would be great. Cons - It doesn't work.

The disadvantage is that it picks one religious or cultural moral system and imposes it on everyone else as a matter of law -- whether the rest of the population follows that religion or not.

The advantages are the one religion that happens to get their views enacted into law gets a huge advantage over every other competing religion.
