It all depends on the environment we live in, I mean my mother would imply, to my sisters, that they didn't need school because she didn't do year ten and she was able to cheat into university, and what do you know, my sisters dropped out of school. But since they lived with my dad for a period of time they entered uni and Tafe, because he would blatantly say they were on the bottom of the pyramid, without education their lives would be so much harder.
Now I know that a lot of people don't have the same experiences but I'm giving an example of how environment does truly affect the outcome

some of it is the schools. my high school was teaching us stuff we should have learned in the 6th grade. some of it is technology distracting us. and some of it is even the parents censoring the kids from learning certain things. such as wars or sexual education. my sister is working on being a elementry school teacher and she gets to sit in elementry school classes and she says that 3rd graders know more stuff then she knew in the 10th grade. and she says it seems like they are doing less work then we did. so maybe the schools have found something that works

They're not. They're in the period of adjustment. They can't get along with technologies these days. Technology is much faster to develop nowadays and aging people can't seem to make up for the sudden changes. Just try to understand them pls.

I think because it's acceptable by society to be stupid. Of course, being PC, we cannot actually call it stupid but, being PC, we cannot insist that people learn what used to be considered common knowledge anymore because that's just not sensitive enough.

I agree. People are going 10,000 miles a minute.
and most of it doesn't even matter. We are living in some strange times my friend. .. things are moving a light-speed.
If someone is not on their i-Phone, they are either on their computer or watching television or driving or smoking or drinking. . ..it never ends. Its like a merry-go-round keeps getting faster and it is not making us a better country of people at all.

People want to do what it takes to just get by. I hate that way of thinking. Ambition is often labeled as greed and people see it as a bad thing.
