Car has a kill switch, remote door opener, alarm, and remote starter. Remote starter nor working. Alarm wire is cut so it won't sound off. I took wire plug off alt., that didn't make a difference battery still went dead. Car starts as soon as the battery is charged. If you have any ideas where and how to find a short, be specific. Thanks!

Here's what you do. Get a voltmeter (if you don't have one already, you can get them for $10 at WalMart and less than that at Harbor Freight tools). Disconnect the negative battery terminal. Now connect the voltmeter between the negative terminal and the negative battery cable. You will see a reading because voltage is travelling across the meter to whatever is draining the battery. Now, find the fuse box and pull a fuse out. Check the voltmeter. If the reading on the meter changes, you've found the circuit that is draining the battery, so it's a matter of troubleshooting that circuit.

Most likely, it's a light staying on, like in the trunk or the glovebox. I wouldn't rule out the remote starter, either.

This I hope will be a simple way to check for a battery draw, buy yourself a test light it has a probe at one end and a cable(wire) with a clip on the other.Remove the negative battery clamp, attach the clip of the test light to the NEG post now put the point of the probe into the clamp, with the doors closed and no accessories on the light in the test light should not light up,if it does that means you have a draw.To find out what it is,start by removing fuses one at a time start by removing the fuse for interior lights because you are going to have the door open while you remove the other fuses, the idea is as you remove fuses you check to see if the light goes out, when it does that fuse and the circuits it protects is the one that's causing your battery to go dead. You may have to buy a book like Haynes to find out what exactly is on the fuse circuit because there is usually more than one thing on the fuse circuit.

Most "shorts" will drain the battery overnight the same as leaving the headlights or parking lights on all night would do.

This sounds more like leaving a cell phone power or charging device plugged into the cigarette lighter. This will draw down the battery in several days verses overnight.

It wouldn't hurt to have a load test done on your battery to check it out. They can do a charging system diagnostic that will check the battery, alternator, starter for about $20.

Good Luck!

Sounds like a battery draw. I would first check for an under-hood light, glove box light, or trunk light that is not shutting off.
