I want to know what makes a first person shooter game (which is no different than the countless others out there) so damn good that people form a line to buy it at midnight.
I mean, it's just a standard futuristic first person shooter... who cares anymore?
I mean, COD is fun to me because it's realistic, but Halo is just you in a stupid suit going around killing aliens... Hmmm, sounds a lot like Doom doesn't it? In fact, the suit bears a striking resemblence to the Doom character.
In my opinion it is just Microsoft's rip off of Doom and isn't even as good.

I feel that same way you do. I don't see what is so amazing about Halo,but I do like to play first person shooters, but after a while, some shooters just get so repetitive. I'm anti-Halo because I'm a Sony PS3 gamer, and I don't see what's so special about the game anyway. Resistance Fall of Man has more technology going on in the game than Halo 3 will ever have. The only game Microsoft has that matters to any Xbox owner is Halo and is the only game that sells the console. Without Halo, the Xbox would be nothing.

Halo isn't that great. The best part about it would probably be graphics, special effects and cinematics, and most likely how the story line develops later on in Halo 2.
Other than that, no more or less generic than any other first person shooter I've ever seen. After all, the point of FPS games is to run around killing your enemies, otherwise they wouldn't be called first person /shooters/.

Its the story that makes it good. Not only that but the controls, game balance, and great graphics also add a lot to the gaming experience. I've played a lot of shooters and none of them are as good as Halo 3 especially the multiplayer aspects.

I completely agree. Personally, I think Counter Strike blows Halo out of the water! I had halo 2, and i couldn't stand playing it for more than 10 min. the weapons aren't that great, vehicles are slow, and i felt like a was just playing laser tag in a video game. glad i'm not the only one who thinks this.

ya i can see that its pretty fun but its not any better than any other fps theres better its just got a alot of xbox fanatics that get there mind set that its the best game ever and suddenly it is
