A 9mm has 350 foot pounds of energy roughly - I am not convinced that 150 T-shirts would stop it - though I would say there is a VERY sporting chance it would stop a 2.2.
It will depend to some degree on the thickness of the cotton too - 155 HEAVY cotton t-shirts with a really tight weave will have much more stopping ability than 155 flimsy "meshy" type t-shirts.

Why do you want to test this out on the poor guy who was so desperate to be in the Guiness Book of World Records?
Try hanging 155 T-shirts on a fence and shooting them, and see if the bullet goes through if you are that interested, though I admit it may be difficult to gather that many T-shirts. Good luck!

that's not very a techniques-fetched. Gangsters interior the 1920-30s might positioned on assorted thick clothing earlier entering right into a gunfight because of the fact it would end the .38 particular bullet carried via police on the time. This at last spurred bullet manufactures and gun makers to enhance the .357 magnum with the slogan "It takes evidence out of bullet-evidence". And to respond to something of your question, sure, i think of sufficient clothing ought to end any form of bullet in spite of the undeniable fact that it could make you an immovable blob of 500 kilos. So why not in basic terms positioned on a Kevlar vest?

Depends on the muzzle velocity. If the t shirts are, more or less compacted solid, the bullet would probably pass through although would have lost power. During the war the Nazis often experimented by making prisoners stand in a line and shooting at the first one to see how many prisoners could be killed by the bullet passing through them. Generally it was four.

good question, those saying no way have probable never really shoot much. if anyone can tell me the foot pounds for a 9mm round without knowing the weight - powder - what it is fired out of is a GOD. i have four different loads in my room right now that are all different. including one that is subsonic. to many variables to give you a solid answer. next time you ask a gun question try going to sports - outdoors - hunting, at least we've shoot a lot and didn't get are info from the movies.

Are you serious? No way!
Even a .22 or a .17 or even a crappy .25 round would shred through those t-shirts
A 9 mm would likely go through all the shirts, through that person, through the person behind that guy with the tshirt, and again through the person standing behind that guy!
A 9mm has amazing velocity!
Don't try this unless you are going to put it on youtube.

This question reminds me of when my dad was a kid. He and his brother were interested in seing if a Bell pepper, still on the vine, could stop a BB. It couldn't and my dad sang soprano for a while. I like the idea of using an inanimate target with the requisite number of T-shirts....
