grams divided by grams/mol = moles

find grams per mole using periodic table.

For carbon = 12*12.01 = 144.12 g/mol
For Hydrogen = 22*1.01 = 22.22 g/mol
For Oxygen = 11*16.00 = 176.0 g/mol
Total g/mol for C12H22O11 is = 342.34

# of grams / 342.34g/mol = # of moles
