i first filed for divorce in june. Since he didn't respond i put the papers through default. they have been accepted to default.

does it take another 6 months for the judge to sign the papers or what, or do they still count it from the first day you submitted all forms.

Most states it's 90-days. If the court doesn't receive an objection then the judge will sign them and send them to your ex.

If he did not respond by the required time than the judge will just sign off.. BUt only if its recorded that he was served. As soon as the the judge signs off, final paperwork should be mailed to you. You can always call the court or go there and ask the status of the paper work.

It depends upon the judge as to how long it takes the judge to sign the papers...then it will depend upon how long it takes your lawyer to do their work with the papers and send them to you with your final decree. It's all a waiting game.

Call the court house where you filed and ask someone with some knowledge on what happens here.
