What was she thinking? She almost got herself killed by the police because they thought she might have had a real bomb. Boy, isn't our current crop of university students bright? With this young woman and the guy from Florida who was tasered, this country seems to have a bright future.

She's trying to make a point--not sure what that point is. Probably she has an agenda beyond free speech.
Anyways, free speech can not be conducted in a way that is against public good. She didn't have plane tickets, she took this fake bomb looking device strapped it on and walked around an airport up to guards, until she got arrest and then smiled as she pleaded not guilty. The problem is that drones (terrorist's) can strap on fake devices and test airport security measures. Fake bombs can also be used as diversions, to invoke fear, and to raise stress levels.
Fortunatly, the idea of free speech has already been test in this aren, back when men use to yell fire in a crowded theater to get a good laugh and them claim free speech.
I don't necessarily think she should go to prision, but she is guilty, and we of course now need "fake bomb" laws. I think at a certain point people become so smart they sort of explode or implose or just get stupid. In this case she's really not helping anything or anyone, except to give us all a hard time.
Now MIT does have a law on felonies and studen admission. And while she was only arrested for distrubing the peace, she is actually commiting acts of terrorism and is a traitor to the U.S. She should be expelled from school and sent to live outside the us and rot away.

She's an idiot, period. 10 years sounds right to me. Imagine if you were in that airport when this was happening. She's an idiot but not stupid, she goes to MIT for gods sake, though she probably won't be there for long. I'm sure Terrorist accepting Columbia university will accept her. She stated it was art for career day? She's lucky with all that's happening in the world and against US citizens she's still alive. Deadly force would've 100% been justified in this case and I tell you that if I were in an airport, mall, whatever and someone approaches me with a bomb strapped to them they'll be meeting the hard end of a .40 cal without a second thought. Youthful hi-jinks my a@#, how old were some of the hijackers on 9/11?

Hey edmund t, I'll fill you in because apparently you don't keep up on current events, so what the hells wrong with you? They, being Columbia University, has asked Ahmadinejad (Iran Prime Minister, not that you'd know that), a sponsor of anti-US terrorist, to speak at their university. Oh yeah, they're an ivy league school...whoopti doooo! He also wanted to lay a wreath at the twin towers site, (you know 9/11?) which is total garbage because he's publicly praised the attacks and stated the only ones who should be mourned are the hijackers. But I'm sure you're OK with that too. Do some homework before you try blasting others with your uneducated and uninformed comments.

She must be one of those people who are book smart but have absolutely no common sense. I have met a few people like that in my lifetime. They are very strange people who don't even think ahead in situations like that.
