undoubtedly - throughout history more wars and deaths are caused through religious conflicts than anything else. Differing beliefs cause rifts between families, between communities and between friends.

It depends on which 'religion' you are refering to.
In Christian/Catholic all are asked to admit their sins to God(they can even do it in private when no one is around) and to ask for forgiveness. God wants to talk with you daily, he wants you to tell him how your day went, and to hear you say 'thank you'. He doesn't want you to be an idiot, you can ask him anything, and he'll give you all the answers you need.
The biggest thing is, that he wants you to admit that you messed up and to ask him to forgive you.
Alot of people do not want to admit that they messed up and that they led a not so good life.
There is a religion that says you don't have to admit you were wrong in the past, just follow these rules and say this 5 times a day and you'll be ok - Islam.
1. The thing they want you to say 5 times a day is what they believe. (I don't know about you, but I don't have to repeat what i believe in 5 times every day - I'm not going to forget it)
2. Why face Makkah? He started out facing Jerusalem. He stopped praying towards Jerusalem when he couldn't get the Jews in his town to convert. God is everywhere, you can pray to him no matter where you face and He will hear you.
3. Mohammad's real name is Ubu'l Kassim and he did not even follow his own rules. He says men can up to 4 wives, then why did he have 10-12 for himself?
4. He was made mayor of a town, when it went bankrupt, what did he do? He robbed the caravans going to and from the near-by town of Makkah. He knew that when invaders came, whoever won, got to spread their 'religion' over the losers. He then invaded Makkah, and coverted the town to Islam.
Think about it, he wasn't able to talk many people into converting, the only real way Islam spread is by winning wars with it's neighbors.
If I can not convice you to follow me, I'm not going to force you by beating you up until you do.
So, I do think some 'religions' are harmful in more then one way. Mormans, Hindu, Buddha, Jevovah's Witnesses, Christian Science, Hare Krishna are a few others that either believe in nothing, believe in cr@p, and have not even tried to find out the truth of how those 'religions' even started. If they did, they wouldn't follow them.

religion is supposed to promote love and peace among humans....but religion is also always used by some ppl in power to influence its members (who are stupid and cant think for themselves) to do stupid things in the name of religion... so ultimately, no matter how good the intention of religions are, religions actually ended up causing more harm than good... religion can only do more good than harm if people stop letting religion dictate their lives, and just practice and follow whatever they think is good for humanity in the whole, not just their own members of a religion...

No, religion is a belief, a desire, millions of people believe in God, especially as we get older. Religion is used to cover wars & troubles throughout the world, where infact the real reason is greed, for land, food, or minerals, wealth of any kind that your neighbour and distant neighbour wants. Lets not all be fooled and generalise problems throughout the world. Look deeper.

Relgion reasons extra injury than sturdy because of the fact it teaches human beings to settle for innovations with out any validity. It creates an unrealistic set of standards which the followers of that faith generalize to something of humanity. maximum latest religions are according to mythological premises and used or have been used as kit of indoctrination and manipulation of extensive communities of human beings. loads of the ideals prescribed via religions are previous as they have been used to describe phenomenon that may not be understood human beings many some years in the past. As there have been no medical explainations for lots of the activities interior the worldwide, human beings necessary to make issues up so as to have some style of information of such issues.

It's not the religions it's the small number of fanatics who deliberatelly missinterprit parts of their religious creed for their own agenda to preach hatred of all other religions. The only one we generally hear about is the muslim faith but it is just as rampant in ALL faiths.I have lived and worked with most of the faiths and the majority of people in every one of them want to live a peacful and happy life bringing up their families but are in most cases hijacked by a small group of fanatics who use threats of violence to get their way.

Yes I do think it causes more problems for the world.
In all history it has been used or is the catalyst for wars and genocides.. Tell me one war in which religion was not the base...or main reason??
They have used gods...faith ideas...churches...beliefs in all time to give them reason to kill and maim...take children from their families .... invade nations and even slavery...religion is a huge money maker int his world it should be help they offer not help if you convert!!!
