turn the story of the Jena 6 around. 6 white kids beat up one black kid until he was unconcious and continued to beat him up by kicking him in the head and hitting him as he lay there defensless. the night before at a PRIVATE party 3 white kids try to go to a party and are denied entrance by a black woman, a fight ensues with a black man attacking with a bottle.
6 white kids were charged and one of them as an adult with second degree murder charges.
Now the white community is rallying with the ones that did the assaulting and they dont believe that they should be freed with no punishment, and the black kid must have just deserved it.
DOES ANYONE SEE WHAT IS WRONG WITH JENA 6 YET?
IT IS REVERSE DESCRIMINATION, BUT IT IS STILL RACISM

for all the "idiots" who keep telling me to "get the facts", maybe you should read all of the facts and stop listening to just what the racists are saying. there is a world out there that you are missing and it is because you are so weak minded that you are letting a group of people influence your thought. you are a single person, dont follow the crowd just because you are scared of it.

blacks cant be racist....what are you talking about? They are an oppressed race, the white man is always out to get them, so your argument is not valid. How dare you hold black people to the same standards as you would hold a white person, your racist for even suggesting such a thing!
gosh
edit: dude, sarcasm....did you not get that?

All I can go on is personal experience and Foamy4President you're an wrong. Black people can't be racist? In my life the most racist people I've known were black. I got beat up by 5 Black men for being Mexican, what the hell do you call that? I did nothing wrong, did I deserve it? Oh I'm sure in your opinion I did because I was on the wrong side of campus. Foamy4President your points are invalid and akin to one Mr. Sharpton, one of the biggest hypocritical sleazebags out there. Every civilization has been oppressed and spit on throughout the worlds history at one time or another, it's just most people move on while a select few still feel disrespected and entitled to something because of it. Get over it!!!! By the way Foamy4President you're Racist and this question and commentary is right.

I don't really know the story - but here is my opinion:
I dont care what race, sex or religion you are. You never at any point in time have any right to violently gang up on anyone. You should go to jail and pay for any medical expenses and any pain & suffering that the family and victim receive becuause of those actions.
***Oh - and if the person you beat up dies - Murder Charges.

I absolutely agree. I'm so sick of what the media, Sharpton, & Jackson have made out of this. People should be responsible for their actions. If you commit a violent crime, especially if you're a repeat violent offender (Mychal Bell) then you should be held accountable. There's no provocation for that type of six on one violence. Don't bring up the nooses in the tree because the guy that was beaten had nothing to do with it. Let's stop babying criminals because their feelings have been hurt. I've been slammed for my views on this but I'm not striking out at anyone or calling anyone childish names. Good luck. 2D

I soooooo totally agree with you. I have to turn off the tv when I see this issue on the news I just can't believe what this world is coming to. It's like if your skin is dark then you shouldn't be punished for anything you wrong, even something as horrible as trying to kill someone. It makes me sick! I do believe in fair justice though, I mean if the black kids are being punished more harshly than someone of another color, that wouldn't be right. BUT, to me the punishment fits the crime in this situation and it wouldn't matter what color the criminal was, I'd agree with the same punishment.
P.S. - If white kids did something wrong to hurt the black kids (or anyone) they should be punished too! I don't want it to sound like I think the white kids should not be punished for their wrong-doings, they definitely should.

Putting race into the whole situation in the first place is ridiculous.
And reverse discrimination is Al Sharpton's specialty you know.
Throw the Jena 6 UNDER the jail.
It what they deserve for what they did.
No matter what color they are.

This story would never make the news...take the case of the young white couple out on a date minding their own business...4 black men and 1 black woman kidnapped, tortured, assaulted and murdered the young couple...they cut off the man's penis, poured bleach in their mouths and raped the woman...they then murdered both?!! Do you remember hearing about it on the news? Where is the justice for this couple?
What's with the thumbs down? The story I speak of is true and it never made the news!! Those two people are dead!!

I couldn't agree with you more, yet Reverend Al, Jesse Jackson and the rest of the loser activists are trying to turn it around to make the black kids the victims. What a crock of BS. I hope they all fry...

I agree on some level. But it isn't as "black and white" (forgive the pun) as you suggest. There are several elements at play here. 1) racial sensitivity 2) racism towards blacks (people tying ropes to trees) 3) a crooked justice system 4) a history of oppression against black people...etc.
And to the poster who says black people can't be racist, you're a dork. Of course they can. And, for the record, most black people that are murdered, are murdered by black people. Most white people that are murdered, are also murdered by black people. The "white man" as you refer to them, is really not doing that much oppression anymore.

Check out the timeline of what led up to this final beating. A white boy who comes after a black boy with a broken bottle gets probation. A white boy who actually aims a shotgun at some black boys gets no charges against him, while the three blacks who wrestled it away from him got charged with assault and theft of weapon. The Jena6 case is just another step in escalating racial violence, which was ALLOWED to escalate because of blatant racism in that area of Louisiana.
Nobody is saying that these boys should get a free pass. They're saying that they should get the same treatment as white boys in the same situation--charged with assault, not attempted murder, for example, and charged as juveniles (because, at the time, they were) instead of being charged as adults. One of them is still in jail after NINE MONTHS, for what should be a simple battery charge. How is this request for equal treatment "reverse discrimination?"

WHAT SPARKED ALL OF THIS? RACISM...NOOSES HANGING FROM TREES...I THINK THE REASON WHY THEY CHARGED THE BLACK KIDS WITH ATTEMPTED MURDER WAS BECAUSE THEY PRACTICALLY BASHED THE FACE IN ON THE WHITE KID. ITS SAD. I DONT CONDONE IT AT ALL REGARDLESS OF WHAT RACE YOU ARE...VIOLENCE IS NOT THE ANSWER!! MY THING IS....RACISM IS A DISEASE...YOU CAN NOT STOP PEOPLE FROM BEING RACIST. THE ONLY THING WE CAN CONTROL IS OUR REACTION TO NEGATIVITY...ITS NOT FAIR FOR EITHER RACE...NOT THE KID WHO WAS BEATEN (EVEN THOUGH HE PROVOKED IT) AND NOT THE BLACK KIDS WHO WERE CHARGED WITH ATTEMPTED MURDER..
