The country I was born in - England - was a lot better when I was born than it is now. Things have got quite bad in some parts, especially the inner cities. If I could have been born anywhere, it would have been New Zealand or Singapore.

Born in UK and the country is going to the dogs, there are way to many issues to go into with a rant so i wont bother. If i could chose a country then i would go for Tibet or Bhutan.
A simple life is all i want.

I can honestly say that I am happy with the country I was born in (UK) but I'm just not happy with the politics of the country.
Sometimes I feel ashamed of this country:
We can't look after the older generation, you know, the ones that fought in the first/second world war etc. It is a disgrace what they have to put up with, their living accomodation is awful and there are care homes that will leave them for days on end without helping them have a wash. We will all get old and is a fact of life that we may need help at some point.
Our military forces are not being looked after now, sent out to war torn countries without the proper equipment, without the proper support and backup. They come back if injured and are not given the proper care (Friend in the forces was flown back last year due to being shot, had loads of problems with infection and numerous other things and now been handed over to the NHS!!). They are not given decent accomodation which they rightly deserve...but the woman/girl who got pregnant for a flat gets everything given to her which is alot better than our forces get and her boyfriend is allowed (because it is soooo easy) to sit on his **** and claim of the state! The soldiers come back and are basically treated like a piece of s**t from jo public.
Some of us live in fear for our lives because we don't feel it is safe to walk down our own street because of shootings. If people do get caught for killing, manslaughter, rape etc etc they get rubbish sentences that don't reflect any longer what they done!
Nurses, work all the hours under the sun, get verbally abused by patients and are given no thanks from our government...given rubbish pay, they are told things will change with regards to abuse but nothing ever does!
Schools, education seems to be going down the pan, I remember being taught respect as well as maths and english. Children/teenagers are allowed to verbally abuse teachers, put feet on tables and the teachers can't do anything.
I could go on and on but we have all heard it all before.
I was happy with this country when I was an innocent child but now I have grown up this country is nothing to be proud of.

I was born in England and believe we are fortunate to live in a country where we have access to education,a free health service, sanitation etc.
However am sad to see the decline of good manners, and an increase in violent crime.
