Have you given your last dime to charity?....Because you're supposed to. Do you turn the other cheek?...Because you're supposed to. Plus, only the sinless can judge....
Haven't you heard of seperation of church and state?...Or Freedom of Religion?
*"Can't procreate"

*"Gay couples will make their kids gay"
-How the heck did straight couples come up with gay kids? Don't try to claim that they all had atleast one parent in the closet, because that would be absurd! ;)

There is no reason why gvmt should be involved in defining peoples marriages. This is a private union between two people. They are capable of defining what their marriage should be.

Get the gvmt out of marriage and let the people decide their marriage for them selves. What difference does it make if you share your vows to your partner to the pope, or nakid in an old growth forest with a bunch of your closest friends?

I have nothing against gay couples. In fact, my own brother is homosexual. Even though it's not "natural", hardly anything we humans do is (including marriage). The only thing that matters is that you feel good.
However, marriage is traditionally the union of a man and a woman. Although traditions are often seen as old things opposed to freedom, they are actually a good thing. They are one of the things that make human societies. Of course, some traditions need to be changed, for example when they are oppressive, but I don't think we have the right to destroy one of the most universal of human traditions (it existed in most of civilizations) just because some homosexual couples want to live in a fairy tale or to get financial advantages.
But obviously your opinion is already made and so what could anyone possibly say to change it?

No idea where it originated, but here is something sent me recently ... it made me laugh:

Twelve reasons why gay people should NOT be allowed to get married:

1. Homosexuality is not natural, much like eyeglasses, polyester, and birth control.

2. Heterosexual marriages are valid because they produce children. Infertile couples and old people can't legally get married because the world needs more children.

3. Obviously, gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children.

4. Straight marriage will be less meaningful if Gay marriage is allowed, since Britney Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage was meaningful.

5. Heterosexual marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all; women are property, blacks can't marry whites, and divorce is illegal.

6. Gay marriage should be decided by people, not the courts, because the majority-elected legislatures, not courts, have historically protected the rights of the minorities.

7. Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That's why we have only one religion in America, and that’s why Atheists and Agnostics are not allowed to get married either.

8. Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.

9. Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract.

10. Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home. That's why single parents are forbidden to raise children.

11. Gay marriage will change the foundation of society. Heterosexual marriage has been around for a long time, and we could never adapt to new social norms because we haven't adapted to things like cars or a longer lifespan.

12. Civil unions, providing most of the same benefits as marriage with a different name are better, because a "separate but equal" institution is always constitutional. Separate schools for African-Americans worked just as well as separate marriages for gays and lesbians will.

I'm pretty neutral regarding gay marriage, except that the same arguments for these would also allow state-supported polygamy between consenting adults, and state-supported adult incest.

I'm still waiting to see one valid argument that applies to gay marriage that would not allow a father to marry his 18 year old daughter (or son, for that matter) or a 40 year old pastor from marrying several of his 18 year old constituents. Both polygamy and adult incest would have significant "conflict of interest" problems that are probably best discouraged as a general institution.

Give me a non-arbitrary segregation of gay marriage and adult forms of incest and polygamy, and I'll reconsider the concept.

For physical apetites if anyone approaches to unnatural things is not supported by any divine religion rather it strictly prohibits such illicit sexual relation between man to man and woman to woman. It promotoes indecency and obscenity and absolutely is haram. Indeed it is an abomination and an evil way.
Allah says in Quran; And when Prophet Lot said to his folk; will you commit abomination such as no creature ever did before you (8:80).
Lo! you come with lust unto men instead of women.Nay, but you are wanton folk. (8:81)
And Allah says despite Lot advise the folk did not listened to him and we rained a rain upon them. So now the nature of the consequence for evil-doers. (8;84)
One addicted to lewdness without realizing its consequence are really ignorant not only for him but for the whole community and society as a whole.
You have given answers in your question that adultry, looking lustfully at somebody who is not spouse, are the sin. Ofcourse it is sin.
The solution what you have proposed that if anyone can't procreate then he/she should adopt a child to bringup. This is good but not by the 'gay' who will bring up the child into the same way in which they are living.
A family (male and female) or husband and wife, who medically can't produce offspring then they can adopt a child from any government institution, a charity centre, from an orphanage but the attempts from a gay to adopt the child for their future identity is the curse, they wil make the child either gay or lesbian is not good.
Gay, lesbian from morale perspective are the human being, they should live in the society but they should not do what exactly they are doing, it has been forbidden in Islam and even almost countries have opposed seriously to give them a right to marriage or adopt child, if any couple has separated or divorced by any reason, yes there is freedom in Islam to adopt the child if the couple seems unable to get any reconciliation or mediclaly they are unfit to procreate they can contact to such organisation to get a child for their future identity or maintain the family name. Optimally it would be more viable and rational if we follow a right path instead to be oblivious.
Allah says in Quran (verses.9) Indeed he succeeds who purifies his owneslf (i.e. obeys and performs all that Allah ordered, by followng the true faith of Islmic monotheism and by doing righteous good deeds.
And indeed he fails who corrupts his ownself (i.e. disobeys
what Allah has ordered by rejecting the true faith of islamic monotheism or by following polytheism, etc.or by doing every kind of evil and wicked deed ) (Quran verse 10)
The meaning of these verses is that he has triumphed and gained success who purifies himself from the evil and low morals and cultivates in himself the praiseworthy characteristics. While he has lost and has reason for remorse who has neglected the purification of himself and left himself to be a prey/victim of evil and ruin and the destructive characteristics.

You forgot "They're just doing this to get inheritance rights, which you can get right now without marriage."

OK, but why should we create a "separate but equal" state where some people can marry the person they want, and automatically be first in line to inherit, and others can't? Doesn't the Constitution stand for equal rights for ALL citizens?

Who are we to judge. I say let them do what they want. No one is perfect. People lie, steal, cheat, and kill....but they can't marry the same sex with out it being long dragged out.
I forgot who quoted it but I love this saying:
Those of you that point the finger, make sure your hands are clean first.

You forgot "It's unnatural".

Though it could be lumped in with "not the definition of marriage". The response would be the same.

Good question, though!
