They are "God's chosen people", and America's best friends. That is the excuse every time. Forget the fact that We support them, like a 30 year old who won't move out of Mom's house. They asked to be in the Middle East, they knew that they were going to get shtt from other nations for stealing land from Palestinians (the land not given to them, which is behind their border). Now they are innocent? Oh, please! god forbid one should question their actions, lest they be labeled "anti-Semitic"!

Latest information is that Israeli commandos captured nuclear material originating in North Korea from a secret Syrian military installation before IAF jets bombed it.
Sounds like a 'smoking gun' to me.
And if Syria had launched an unprovoked attack on Israel (like they did in 1973) there wouldn't be much furor at all because the UN/ world has never cared when Israelis are killed. But the Syrians would have their tuchases handed to them on a platter. They are no match for the IDF.

Could you provide a link so the full story can be read? If Israel attack Syria without reason then they're bullies. I say this as somebody who is pro-Israel but I'm sure there is more to this story than 'attack without provocation'. But you're right if it had been the other way around Syria would've been condemned from the start.

Reality check: there have been cross-border actions from Syria, Lebanon (which some think is a Syrian puppet), the Palestinian territories, and yes, Israel, since 1948. The trick is to calibrate the action carefully so it doesn't lead another full-scale war--and Syria has not objected to this latest action.
Legal Check: Israel and Syria are at war--there has been no treaty, no peace talks, not even a formal truce following the 1948, 1956, 1967 and 1973 wars.
Al-Jazeera-English on the Web is not playing the story, at least today.http://english.aljazeera.net/NR/exeres/55ABE840-AC30-41D2-BDC9-06BBE2A36665.htm

Can you say bias ?
At first the news story said that Israel resed comment after the US determined that they entered Syrian space
Then thier was a report that Israel believed there was a connection to N Korea and Syria nulcear stuff In that same article US government officals were quoted as saying that would be highly unlikely and almost logistically impossible
Then ---- THEN the Israeli government announced it as the "reason" and the US said "yep that could happen "
Again Can you say bias ?

Syria has launched unprovoked attacks on Israel, including kidnapping some of her soldiers recently. It was big news, but no one got involved or tried to help in any way.
It was entirely unprovoked though-the entire mess was arranged to draw worldwide attention away from the actions of Iran and N. Korea (all three of these countries being at in least in part controlled by China).

That word "unprovoked" is somewhat dependent on your viewpoint, isn't it? Remember, Israel has to be more aggressive in active defense than other countries, simply because it's so tiny. They don't have the option of giving any ground, because if they give even a few miles, they're out of their own country. And the cover was that they hit one of the camps from which rockets make there way south to hit Israel on a routine basis. The rumor of a nuclear alternative are even more pressing from an Israeli point of view.

Perhaps it's because Syria was constructing a nuclear munitions facility with the help of the North Koreans.
Sort of changes the picture a little bit.

It was done for a reason. The speculation is a shipment of nuclear material from North Korea. And yes, I realize, we've heard it all before.
