They don't think they do, obviously but if they want the government giving them things that is exactly what will happen. the government will feel that they have the right to tell us what to do because of their support of them. It's kind of like your parents saying I pay the bills so I make the rules.......

What decisions are liberals trying to make?
Forcing healthcare one people? Requiring seatbelts? Limiting smoking? Ok, good point. Some do try to restrict freedom.
Same thing on the other side.
Abortions, gay marriage, DARE/War on Drugs, "Silent Majority" which gives them the claim to do whatever they want since a theoretically majority of the country agrees with it despite all the evidence to the contrary.
It has nothing to do with liberal and conservative-there are just people on both sides that think they can decide things better than you can. Both sides are constantly attacking free speech lately. The Cons have made the lives of the people totally transparent to the gov't (even without a warrant which is in direction violation of the Bill of Rights) while simultaneously hiding more and more of what the gov't does. The Libs have approved the Patriot Act,and agreed to all of these stupid things being done-more than likely so they can benefit when its their turn to abuse the people. BOTH SIDES!

Far from it, I want the government to stay completely out of my decisions and the exact same for any church. This is my life and so long as I do not infringe on anothers rights and freedoms I should be left alone.

Conservatives want to replace science with the mythological tales of the Old Testament in our schools.
Conservatives want to deny American citizens the personal liberty, individual freedom, and due judicial process granted them by the US Constitution.
Conservatives want to keep secrete every process by which they make decisions that effect all Americans.
Conservatives want to impose their own beliefs on the personal and private behavior of all Americans – and demand the right to monitor that behavior.
Conservatives want to prohibit free political thought, expression, and protest.
Conservatives want to control the personal medical decisions of individuals.
Conservatives want to rewrite the US Constitution so they can replace America’s secular democratic republic with a Christian-fascist government based on the sadistic and humanity-hating doctrine of their judgmental God - just like the political systems of their philosophical and religious cousins, the Islamic-fascists.

Ban on trans-fats. I think the market forces should have handled that - *not* the government.
Ban on smoking in public areas. I'm a nonsmoker and absolutely *loathe* cigarettes. BUT - I think the business owner should be allowed to decide what best serves his or her customers, *not* the government.
Some ninny in California was trying to ban spanking. Yeah, that'll stop child abuse. Moron. Get the government out of our bedrooms, but invite them into the living room? I don't think so.
And *who* was it that said they could spend our money better than we can?
In a post-State of the Union speech in Buffalo, NY on January 20, 1999, Bill Clinton was asked why not a tax cut if we have a surplus. Clinton's response:
"We could give it all back to you and hope you spend it right... But ... if you don't spend it right, here's what's going to happen. In 2013 -- that's just 14 years away -- taxes people pay on their payroll for Social Security will no longer cover the monthly checks... I want every parent here to look at the young people here, and ask yourself, 'Do you really want to run the risk of squandering this surplus?' "

Wow! This particular generalization and, frankly reversal of the obvious is getting sooooooooooooooooooooooo old.
I, and lots of other didn't get to decide to attack a country that didn't attack us. I didn't get to decide that it was better to give kickbacks to Halliburton than invest in the infrastructure of my country, I didn't decide that gay people could not have a simple marriage ceremony, I didn't decide women couldn't make the personal moral decision about abortion for themselves, I didn't get to decide any of the crap George Bush has shoved down my throat, and I'm pretty sure the entire country did not decide he was president in 2000.
Here's my decision: I will ignore hereafter every single idiot republican who blames me for the bad decisions made by their lousy lying politicos.

We don't--its the neocons that want to tell people who they can marry, whether they can smoke, drink, etc. Whether a woman has to carry a fetus to term--even if she's raped. What we can say (e.g. condemning a website because you don't like what they say). What our children are taught in school, and on and on, and on.
So skip the hypcrisy. It's liberals who suppor tpersonal freedom--not the right wing. And everyone knows it.

Well troll, it's like this.
Liberals don't want the government to make all of their decisions for them.
But being a troll, I wouldn't expect you to understand that - just keep regurgitating your right-wing talking points.
And keep rallying around your failure preznit, and his failed war in Iraq. It makes you look especially ignorant.

Liberals don't -- in fact, the core of the liberal philosophy is freedom of choice -- that the govt should NOT be making personal decisions.
Conservatives want the govt to make personal decisions, usually based on moral standards.
Socialists want the govt to make personal decisions, but usually limited to commercial and economic matters.
Liberals are the only ones who do NOT want the govt making any personal decisions -- that's the core of their philosophy.
