Bucks county PA. I live in Levittown. Very affordable and an hour away from Seaside, NJ.

the closer you get to the coast, the more pricey and over-developed it's likely to be. Anywhere commuting distance (2 hours, plus/minus) to a major city is going to be very pricey and competitive.

the far eastern edge of Maine might be reasonably priced. I don't know of anywhere that isn't swampland right on the coast.

If weather is not a factor, you could pick a Great Lake coast.

Good luck!

Scarborough and Whitby are lovely; Sheringham, Cromer, Caister are great (I find Great Yarmouth is better out of season); Southwold is very nice; and Aldeburgh is a wonderful little town. And despite what other people say, I really like Felixstowe.

round Richmond, VA might want to be a sturdy region for you. you would possibly want to be in any ecosystem interior 2 hours. There are leisure parks, parks, mountains, snowboarding/snowboarding, historic previous, coastline, you call it. in spite of the actual incontrovertible truth that i do no longer like it, because it isn't sufficient united states of america for me, curiously you are able to like it. There are places to skydive, communities that take scuba journeys and something in between. The Richmond international airport is right here, with Dulles almost 2 hours north of Richmond.

I think the eastern shores part of Maryland is nice. It depends on if you want to live in the northern or southern part of the country. There are nice shoreline communities from Maine to Florida.

North Carolina is perfect. Try outer banks, or Wilmington. Better weather than northeast.

Move to upstate NY. Plenty of land, weather sucks, but very affordable.

If you are in UK, try Ormsby near Great Yarmouth, Norfolk.
