Most Reps and Cons believe that anyone who opposes the war, the president and corruption is assumed by the right to hate America and support terrorism, right? This isn't a secret.

My question is, once the new president takes over, is it safe to assume you will support the new president and back every issue and bill he/she presents, regardless of political affiliation? Because by using your logic, if you don't support the next president it means you are an unpatriotic traitor and a terrorist, right? I would expect that you would all hold your selves to the same standard as you expect from others, right?

Please answer the question yes or no with an explanation. I would accept most of the Reps/Cons to agree with me, because if they didn't it would be blatantly hypocritical.

J. Galt, I could change it to 100%. It sure seems that way amongst the Reps and Cons. This isn't me putting words in your mouth, this is something that they spew on a daily basis.

Once again not one answer to my question from the right. Many of you answering have supported other Y!A members view when it comes to calling others traitors, unpatriotic and terrorists. Now when you look like a complete hypocrit you claim you wouldn't consider yourself a traitor. Which one is it? Your opinions change in every question. Do you actually believe what you say or do you just speak emotionally and hope nobody notices your contradictions? Absolutely pathetic.

Nope. It's not safe for you to assume anything about me and what I will and will not support. I don't support many things now and do speak out.

Yes, I'm a conservative.

Actually, you're wrong. Generalizations tend to apply only to a small group of people. I don't think that people who disagree with the war or the President are America haters - not all of them, anyway.

Personally, I will do my best to support the new President, regardless of their political affiliation. Why? Because I am an American first, and a conservative second.

Have a nice day.

Well, you start off with an erroneous assumption. MOST republicans and conservatives are in favor of freedom of speech and respect the fact that everyone is entitled to their own opinion. That's what America was founded on.

Period.

I don't blindly support anyone, regardless of poltiical party. So, no, it is NOT safe to assume anything about my political opinions. You don't know me, or my values. Just because I am generally conservative does not make me a lemming.

I think ANYONE who blindly supports anyone is a lemming. I think ANYONE who blindly hates America and supports our enemies is an unpatriotic traitor. Each issue should be dealt with individually to the best of someone's judgement.

And I agree with you that anyone who blindly supports Bush and does not blindly support the next President is a hypocrite, but then anyone who blindly supported Clinton but does not blindly support Bush is also a hypocrite.

Interesting. I think I'm going to start keeping score on our not so wonderful leaders and see what their stance is in 18 months. Won't it be funny to see them whining and crying about the next president. Bush is be an idiot but are we all not somewhat culpable for not demanding an impeachment as a nation.

To the gentleman above me, I served for 9 years, 7 of which were done on active duty including the first gulf war. I proudly defend any person's right to an opinions and beliefs, just please make sure your way of life is not trampling on my way of life.

unpatriotic?? wow why does that word just strike me with the names of many liberals?

what you need to realize is that no matter who gets the vote to be President, no one, and I mean no one will ever be satisfied with the vote.

But why we are on this topic of republicans and conservatives just being the worst people ever it seems, let me remind you that the congress's approval rating is the lowest of all history! and you can thank that rating to your mindless leaders, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid. Ill bet you money the next time they are up for reelection, they will both be pushed out, because they have done such a terrible job trying to "revitlize" congress and america.

So do me a favor, before you look at the pther party to find its flaws, look at yours first, so that why when you make a retarded statement as you have, you wont look like a hypocrite.

I disagree completely with your assessment of the republicans. We don't say you have to agree with the President, I certainly didn't agree with Clinton. I believe you have a right and a duty to oppose the leaders of our nation if you disagree with them. The traitor rhetoric comes in the form of aiding and abetting our terrorist enemies. That happens when you start calling for surrender, withdrawal, and accuse our military of war crimes. That my friend is traitorous and if you noticed when Clinton took us into Bosnia the republicans did not do this, we were not fond of the war, but we did not give the enemy any reason to think we did not have the resolve to win it. You and your democrat counterparts on the other hand do, and that is blatantly hypocritical, you supported Clinton and "his war" but fail to support Bush and "his war". Now I am compelled to ask why is that?

I'm a conservative Dem. There are plenty of us. I opposed Clinton sometimes, and Gore as VP. I oppose Bush more, but then, he's Bush, probably the worst president who ever stole office.

But my point, friend, is that there are conservatives in the democratic party, and though it may be equally hard to accept,
leberal republicans. The party affiliation is what we're forced into because there are only two parties. The ideological nuances are because despite this, we think for ourselves.

None the less, I believe that Republicans (not conservatives) are genarally as you describe them: blindly accepting of the faults of their leaders and completely brainwashed against the other party.

Same is basically true of Democrats, but I find their bias a lot less venal and obvious.

I will support a democratic president and his efforts to control terrorism and provide us with national security. Provided that he/she does an adequate job.

I will not support the president's policies if they lead us down the path of a nanny or socialist state for universal healthcare and other welfare programs. However I will not protest and whine like you do.

I will not support the giving a path to citizenship for illegal aliens who broke our laws. This is a non-starter of a conversation.

I will support the military and any mission that the president sends them on to protect our national interests, regardless of what happens. I will not change my mind and I will even send them packages like I am doing today with the "treats for troops" program.

Any other questions, please ask.

While they do believe that you must also remember that hypocrisy is running amok on the right these days. So either they do as you suggest and walk in lockstep with the new president as they propose we all do with this one or risk being hypocrites. My how that kind of puts them between a rock and a hard place doesn't it?

True, but dont expect honetsy.

The stand behind Bush because of the war and torture itself.

And that alone is why the GOP is falling apart.

They do not hold themselves to the standards they hold others too.Do as I say not as I do. And they have created the worst in-nation fighting in the "civilized" world.

"liberals hate America" is vulgar street hate, plain and simple.
