Someone had told me that if you take the staple out of a rewritten will, one of the parties can contest the will on grounds that it was tampered with. You see I told my sister that my husband owed back taxes, yes I thought they were more than they were and I told my sister just because I trusted her. What did she do but run to my Mother and tell her. They without asking me took me off the will. They told me after the fact. Saying that they were only looking out for my best interest. I say if that were the case they would have told me prior to doing it. I would have been hurt but I would have understood. The way they did it was cold and calculating.
Perhaps I am reading way to much into this but it did hurt what they did.
Peace to all and thank for taking the time to read this.

The Attorney who wrote the Will have to have the original of the will and it have to be without any pages misplaced or added and that is a place where you can go look at it and get a copy of it if you wish !

Remember too that in any Will there got to be two witness with not gaining from it !

By the way , do you think O.J. Simpson is innocent ? If yes you are a very nice person , congratulations !

Two points. Yes, taking a staple out of a will may result in the will being contested -- not because of it being 'tampered with', but rather because the separate pages (if not otherwise properly linked and identified) could come from separate documents -- and most states require the pages to be physically and/or logically linked to count as one document.

And if your mother wants to take you out of her will, that's her choice. I can understand how you're hurt and upset -- and that's one of the things that happens when people's trust is violated, and people don't talk to each other openly.

Removing a staple is not tampering. The only one who can remove someone from a will is the person who wrote it or had the will written. If that person is still alive, there is really nothing at this time to contest

It's their money they can will it to the cat if they want - get over it.

There is more than one copy of a will - the lawyer will have a full and complete copy. Stapled or not.
