The best thing to do is find the studs in the wall. If this is an older home with gypsem walls (drywall covered with wallpaper) and you put a hole in it you may not be able to match the pattern of the paper. Even if it is a solid color because the manufactures change these decor colors and patterns every 2 and 4 years depending on the company.

I'm in a mobile. What are the issues? There should be studs. What weight are the helves and what do you intend putting on them?
Certainly anchoring into studs is preferable. How old is the mobile? Are you wanting to hang on drywall or REAL paneling?
Unless it's a newer model it will likely have 1/4 drywall.

You may get some negative answers here about mobiles, and I might understand some; but I also understand the inability for some of us,,, or more...the lack of 250,000 dollars to spend on a HOUSE worth half that.
