Processor more than meets requirement. Xpress 1100 also meets minimum requirement BUT it is not yet at the EXCITING level.

As far as I can tell, your Aspire 5100 comes with a AMD Turion X2 and the base memory is 1GB DDR2. The Turion isn't quite as powerful as the Athlon X2. I would add another GB of RAM, but that Xpress 1100 will still feel a big pinch trying to run Half-Life 2. Before adding more RAM and another processor (if possible), I'd look into getting a desktop with more power for the same cost.

Dude, you can dominate HL2 on max graphics with that setup. Except for the part where Steam is crap, but even the best hardware doesn't solve thier amount of suck.
