Hey, I'm 17 years old and I am currently on the Depo Shot. I just had a baby 6 months ago.(just in case u need to know that) I've had the shot two times and it's caused my period to be longer, but lighter. For the past two months, while on my now irregular period, I developed a hemorriod both times. The doctor told me it was normal. Well I also have this brownish dishcharge that comes out more than blood. It almost seems like it is brown blood. And it only happens once or twice a day.
Sometimes I wont bleed at all or anything all day. But when I have sex later, I start to bleed again and I get these uncomfortable cramps in my pelvic area. I've also been really irritable since I've been on the shot. The littlest thing can make me cry a river of tears. I'm always picking fights with Tim(my b/f). I'm also really Anxious. It's hard to concentrate on anything. I cant fall asleep for a long time at night. Sometimes I'll wake up and not be able to fall back asleep for 2 hrs.what should I do

Don't get those shots! I have heard absolute horror stories from some of my friends who had them. I have always taken the pill, and I have had no adverse affects from them. Yes, it's a little more of a hassle to remember to take them, but it's better than feeling the way you are obviously feeling from the shots.

The gal i've got been seeing for the previous 5 years acts an identical way. She too is 40 5 (i'm 40 4.) At 40-one she had a hysterectomy and went immediately into menopause. The atypical component is she will particular stare at tall, youthful adult men's crotches and thoroughly lose music of the deep conversations we've been having. If she ogles long and complicated sufficient at some properly hung stud muffin, she will slightly make it to the top of the day with out wanting to rub one off asap. Menopause my a-s-s. whilst it performs an element in sexual urge for meals, etc., there is an excellent number of evidence all around the information superhighway approximately women individuals who've long handed through menopause, or are dealing with menopause, that many women individuals nevertheless get a intense case of the hornies extra generally than as quickly as a month - or on your case, 3-4 months. shop previous batteries around and turn them out with the recent ones from her widespread toy. My SO finally have been given so mad at me she broke hers and we knock boots a minimum of two times a month... lol

I did 2 rounds of depo a log time ago and what you are describing was me to the T. My husband hated me on it. Just to let you know if your doctor tries to convince you to get the Mirena IUD, don't because it uses the same exact hormone as the depo. It will make you feel exactly the same way. Get off it, don't take another shot, use condoms they won't make you feel wacky.

I agree with these women, depo shots are evil! I took 1 round and it made me cry all the time, like you. I don't cry and I was crying over stupid commericals! I also was very hormonal and uncommonly severly moody! I also bled for 2 week straight, uncommon for me. I am on the pill now and its a lot better, I just have to remind myself to take the pill but there are methods to do that I'm just lazy I guess! But just talk it over with your doctor, and I hope it gets better for you hon, shot or no. God bless!

i'd go on the pill, because you shouldn't take something that is making you miserable. i've only had slight side effects on the pill and i'm around your age (16) and it's also very effective against pregnancy. not to mention you can pretty much pinpoint the day you get your period. it's pretty nice. so considder switching. if you don't want the pill, there is always the nuva ring. just talk to you doctor about it.

Get off of it. If anything makes you that miserable, it just isn't worth it. Try for a pill--I am on Cyclessa, which is low hormone (but still effective against pregnancy, of course) so I don't have the mood swings or cramps I had on other pills.

Hope that helps!

STOP NOW. I gained twenty pounds PLUS all the same things you were going through. I got back on the pill and I feel soooo much better. Now I'm considering Mirena... (check it out.) I HATE DEPO.

All of these things can be caused by the shot. I had a horrible time on it, too. I would suggest talking to your doctor to find a different form of birth control. There are so many options, there is no reason for you to be miserable.

I have never taken the depo shot, so I don't know much about its side effects. But I would reccomend trying an alternative method of birth control and see if the side effects arent more tollerable!! Good luck and congrats on the baby
