Yeah more than likely it`s a rash from lack of air getting to it. I have two girls and I `ve found that having lotrimin cream on hand saves the day for everything. I used it for diaper rashes to yeast infections. The wal-mart brand works fine too. It will go away in a few days. Try to let her lay without a diaper so the air can get to it and she`ll love it too!

If she's a new born, this may actually BE a birthmark. Maddie had a birthmark on the back of her neck that we simply didn't notice until she had been home for a day.

Diaper rash has raised bumps, If there aren't raised bumps and raw skin, and it appears to be UNDER skin rather than on top , I'd suggest taking her to her pediatrician . just to be on the safe side. I'm not sure how old she is, if this would even apply but, If it looks like its streaming from the belly button, the belly button could have become infected.

It could be the brand of diaper she's wearing...it could also be the fit of it as well.

Go buy some corn starch and put it over the red mark every time you change her and even put some in there between changes. Corn starch will clear up ANY kind of diaper rash really fast. You might even see a difference in as little as a couple of hours!

You might want to change the brand of diapers that you are using for her. Could it be that the plastic is directly against her skin? Or if there is dye in the waist band she may be sensitive to that. Or she may be too hot. Or she may be diapered too tightly. Hope this helps.
