It's the beauty of that movie. They all connected for that time in detention, and found out that their stereotypes of other people aren't neccessarily true, but you get the feeling that they wouldn't stay friends/lovers afterwards. They would fall back into the norms of high school kids.

I don't think that Bender and Claire stayed together after that day. I don't even see that as implied in the movie; however, I think that each learned to be more open minded in their lives.

There's no way Bender and Claire stayed together. Claire's family woudln't have tolerated it. Sporto and the basket case would have stayed together. She would let him think for himself.

sixteen Candles--Michael Schoeffling--yum! And we nonetheless quote Gedde Watanabe (who deserved a terrific helping) - "The Donger want nutrition." And think of of the early Cusacks--lovable! i think of it has a greater proper theory than BC altho it is incredibly stressful to criticize something John Hughes does.

Don't think so, it's doubtful that they would even speak to the others the "cliques" are so segregated in that school, as in many schools.
