Not really. To me, managers aren't the ones who cause a team to do poorly -- it's the players!

Unless you're a player/manager I don't know of any manager who threw a pitch or got a hit or caught a ball, or ran a base the entire season. Willie, for the most part, made the right decisions throughout the season. Ultimately the players have to produce. The players, not Willie, fell apart.

Personally I blame the players. Unless Willie is out there pitching or hitting. Maybe he should bench players that aren't doing their jobs. that's a thing about sports teams in general, as soon as the team goes down & loses, the first to go is the coach or the manager, never the players.

Only if you give him credit for all the victories. Blame belongs on the the players on the field. Willie didn't make the bonehead play at third base last night.

I have a friend who somewhat, sorta knows one of the Mets players. I think their, and my, opinion is that Willie is not utilizing his players individual strengths.
Of course, if that nimrod Beltran strikes out with the base loaded of another important tied game, well, who's to blame then.

The blame is shared amongst all the players and the manager. They're a team, and a team shares the blame for everything, and they all share the credit when something good happens

Of course not. The Mets meltdown stems from injuries and bad pitching.

The Mets manager is the one who makes the decisions, so technically it is his fault for their slide. I would not give him 100% of the blame though. Players make mistakes causing unearned runs like Wright's throwing error in the 9th last night. No error no run, Mets win. But they lost in extra innings.

I think the Mets should clean house if they don't make the playoffs. Everyone is to blame, the GM, the Manager, and the players. Get rid of everyone and start fresh.

NOt willie, he is just part of the team, carlos not being healthy hurts the way manny not being healthy hurts, even if he is in the line up and does not produce he causes problems for the defense.
