Well its not all about how much you earn, you need to be reasonably happy in the job you do because, you could earn 100k a year have no money worries, but hate your job so much that you are discontented and depressed. Its not all about the money, you need job satisfaction....especially when your going to be doing it everyday for at least 50 years!!

The more the better, the UK average, i think is in the low £20ks.
Add up all your bills, add some for yourself, add some for saving, and there's the best amount for you to be earning.

Yes, it depends on your lifestyle. you need to sit down and figure what you pay monthly for rent, utilites including your internet service, car payment, insurance, food,clothing, etc. Multiply that by 12 and that would be the bare minimum if you stayed on a tight budget.
