I keep reading more and more instances where our rights have been taken away, but everyone is like "It is always warranted and 'I' have nothing to worry about..." But how long before it is you or me?

If you don't know what I am talking about, look at my other questions.

Give it time.
History has shown us that the abuses start small, but when they become big they come swiftly and with little warning. When half the users of this forum are gone one day, then hopefully people will see what happened.

By the way, I doubt its Bush. Cheney is the real evil.

First question first. The public knows what Hitler is doing... war of course, and for sure the Nazi gov will say an excuse to make war, during WW2 many Germans tried to assassinate Hitler believing that killing Hitler will save Germany.

Second Question. OK, it's alright if you call him pathetic or what but calling him a dictator and comparing him to Hitler... it's a total bias, why don't you compare Ferdinand Marcos and Bush.

Both of them rule a democratic country. Did bush declare Marshal Law? Did he dissolve the rights of the people?

C'mon, compare my countrymen's situation during Marcos reign and your situation.
You're not allowed to go outside after 10pm, the media was censored, police can arrest you anytime.

Just a guess, but I am willing to believe you have never seen pictures of Dachau and other "camps" that Hitler and the boys got together.

Your hatred would work better in the politics section. Your not the first to try and make Bush look like Hitler and that song is old and tired. Don't know how old you are but if your under 25 I'd suggest reading instead of listening to either all right or all left doctrines. Unless of course, you like all-consuming hatred.

I recently watched a tv show about the link between Hitler and Saddam Hussein. One of the things they had in common was that they put people in prison without official, legal charges, without trials and with no hope of ever being released. Isn't it odd how much this sounds like Bush's prisons?

As for your question: I don't know when (or if) they realized what they had done to themselves. Maybe they never did, afterall, it wasn't Germans who were being incinerated. It was Jews. The Germans only regretted following Hitler after the rest of the world kicked their asses. King George will never regret what he's done because Americans are too convinced that nothing bad can ever happen to our country or way of life.

When Goebbels made a big push for donations of fur coats during the coldest winter on the Russian steppes in '41 before the gates of Moscow. That was their first inkling that something was amiss.

The elation of defeating their traditional enemy in the west, and the initial victories of Operation Barbarossa kept the masses in a high state of esctasy. After the winter of '41 many commented on the dark clouds forming in the future.

Germany knew full well what Hitler was. Hitler also knew full well what Germany was, so he put away every left-leaning public figure and kept a close watch on right-leaning ones. The right-wingers, however, harbored no love for Hitler and attempted to assassinate him at least 16 times we know of...

Hogwash and balderdash.

You have to quit reading the drivel put out by MoveOn.org. If they ever told the truth, they would tell a lie just to keep their hand in.

For one, you have got to quit your fight against our duly elected President Bush. I don't know if you know this or not, but he won't be on the ballot in '08. So since he won't be dictator for life, there is one similarity that doesn't exist.

Another, millions upon millions were killed in concentration camps by Hitler and his minions. The people in US controlled prisons are given three squares and allowed to have their own Scriptures. Another comparison gone.

Hitler disbanded the Reichstag. President Bush is dealing with a cowardly Democratic Congress, who can't agree on diddly. So since Congress is still in session, another comparison gone.

Hitler spied on his people in his country. Bush authorized recording foreign generated communications. Hmm, another comparison gone by the wayside.

President Bush has as allies, several foreign democracies. Hitler had two (sometimes 3) totalitatian dictatorships as allies. Gee whiz, another one bites the dust.

While Hitler waged a cruel war, he had the love of his people. President Bush was tossing out an evil dictator and lost the love of many of his people. Wow, that doesn't even compare.

What right is it you had that was taken away? The fact that you can write such things and haven't been carted away, like you would if you were in Saddam's Iraq, speaks volumes of the rights you have.

God Bless America, where we allow whiners and fabricators a forum for their misinformation.

There must be a separation in a democratic republic between the military and government. However, if the U.S. had a competent "Commander in Chief" and less ideological advisors, this would not be an issue. The military advisors who spoke truth to power about the Iraq fiasco were immediately terminated:(General Shinseki, Admiral Fallon, etc.)

I think it's still not that bad in the US.
Unless if you are an Arab or Muslim American you might feel uncomfortable, which is still bad for the country.

Maybe if we began to see the Asian Americans are suffering and being discriminated. Or the Catholics, or the Africans in way that really reminds of the pre-civil rights years. Then we know for sure the America is becoming a dictatorship
