I would like to know how a person can get into a think tank. I am a very creative person and often have ideas I think could benefit others, but have no way to share the ideas.

A think tank is basically a consulting company, only operating as a non-profit. So to get a non-trivial job in a think tank, you should have the same credentials you would expect a consulting company to ask of you. A Ph.D. in a relevant area would be most helpful; failing that, a combination of a college (better yet, master's) degree and relevant prior work experience could work, too. Since many think tanks have political leanings, it helps to know what they are and how, if at all, they correspond to your own political views.

For example, The Heritage Foundation is usually considered right-leaning:

while The Center for American Progress is thought to be left-leaning:

you have to either be a genius and/or more experienced than a typical 20 year old to get into a think tank; am guessing you are not.
