I havent really been paying attention to this case until a few days ago. I know this is a very controversial issue and that it is most likely going to further plunge the racial boundary between some black and white Americans even deeper. But for those racists who come here bashing those black boys.... you all are really pathetic. This Jena is a racist town, might I add. How come no one is doing anything about the black guy who got hit on the head with a bottle? I heard the white victim who got beat up got out of the hospital the same day and was even able to attend prom? Why should six boys spend the rest of their lives in jail because they beat up one boy (MOST LIKELY FOR his HARRASSMENT towards them!). Why is the jury consisted of ONLY WHITES (did I mention this is a racist town?) Earlier today, someone tried to compare this Jena case to the one where a black woman was abused by those 6 whites. That is entirely different!!!!
What are your thoughts?

Now there are new reports about some arrests made because some people took the liberty to hang nooses on their trucks. Are they out of their minds? Why didnt they make it easier and just hang themselves?

There was a tree at a high school where black students were 'not allowed ' to sit under. one day some black students decided to sit under the tree. . .the next day there were noose's hanging from the tree (an old kkk practice) the black students 'caught' and beat up one of the racist white kids that hung the nooses.

NOW the part for the march: The black kids were tried as adults, even though they were under 18, by a much older ALL WHITE jury. . .they have been in jail for MONTHS, with a much higher bail then deserved...they were tried for "ATTEMPTED MURDER' when the charge should have only been for "Assault" a couple of the verdicts had to be overturned by higher courts because they were such a GROSS INJUSTICE to these kids....and the white kids did not receive any punishment., . .not even suspension from school for the 'HATE CRIME" of hanging a noose on public/state property.

Now all of the ignorant Caucasians are coming out of their trailer parks with these ropes hanging from their pickup trucks. The sad thing is. .. .THIS HAPPENS EVERY DAY IN THE 'STATES' TO BROWN AMERICANS. . .. Its hard for black people to keep up with all of the 'wrongs' that are tossed their way on a daily basis.

Yep a very big difference between a rope in a tree and a boy beaten till he was unconscious and beyond for what a word if that.

The boy had blindness and a swollen head and still has headaches which of course a doctor can't determine the cause and yet grown people can't understand why they want these poor innocent jena 6 locked up.

If it were me or my kid I'd lock them up and everyone here knows they would too.

Nope I'm not a racist just confused as to why they a white boy getting beaten means nothing while a rope in a tree which hurt no one physically is more imprtant.

Obviously this is a very racist and troubled community. This is just the incident that allowed the truth to be exposed.

The white kids hung the nooses because their racist christian parents encouraged them too. The DAthreatened the balck kids that he could take their lives away by locking them up in jail because this is still a small town in the deep South and everyone knows what that means.

The people defending the white kids are racist and cowardlysince, they do not have the guts to really go down to Jena and voice their support for the white kid. Thay know if they did that they would be disowned by their neighbors and peers. So they stick to Yahoo, because it's safe.

There is no acceptable reason for six guys to beat one guy. That is a crime & should be punished. They will not most likely spend the rest of their lives in jail. Mychal Bell is a repeat violent offender. Just because there are racist in Jena (black & white) doesn't give anyone the right to beat another. The jury consisted of whites because that's who showed up for court. His attorney was black and didn't call any witnesses and the boy that was beaten WAS NOT one who hung the nooses in the tree. No matter what society is like, I alone, am responsible for my actions. If I commit a crime, I can't blame a town or anyone else. Good luck. 2D

A group of blacks beating a white kid and saying racial things during it, is called a HATE CRIME. But it will not be portrayed like this. Imagine if a group of white kids beat up a black kid...it would be a HATE CRIME.
The noose incident was stupid and ignorant on the whites part. They were suspended from school and should have been rightly so. But there is no law that says hanging a noose from a tree is illegal. Stupid and immature? Yes! Oh, by they way the kids was knocked out cold and they still attacked him. The portrayal of this and especially the "all white jury" is sad. Remember OJ had an all black jury.

I'm not even going to argue anymore with everyone that says it's unacceptable for 6 guys to beat up one guy. Of course it is, no matter what color you are. That's not what's at issue here. The issue is the SENTENCING! Not whether the crime is acceptable or not. The whole thing blew up because a bunch of white kids beat up a black kid in the midst of all the racist BS going on in that town, and they got probation. Is their crime not also unacceptable? The thing blew up because when the black guys beat up the white guy they were originally all charged with attempted murder, which carries a maximum sentence of 100 years in prison. That's life in prison, folks, when the white kids got probation.

You have to realize that the 6 black kids beat this kid until he was unconcious and then they continued to beat him. Also, the black kids are not facing life for assault, because that is a ridiculous statement. You assume that the white boy was harrassing the black kids, u can't assume in a case. the jury was majority white because, this is a fact, out of 100 people (black and white) only white people responded to be on the jury. The town is racist yes, but the blacks are racist against the whites as well. I'm not going to bad mouth your inane statement because you obviously don't have all the facts straight.

they shouldn't have been tried as adults but people forget that they DID commit a crime, but everyone forgets about that when the racism card is called. People like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson are the reason there is still so much racism, they turn anything involving a black and white person into a racism issue even if it was not one to begin with just to get they're names in the news and some money in their pockets. Also, for some reason it seems only white people are racist, all races can be racist people need to realize this!

i agree but obviously this town is racist and has been divided for quite some time. i never experience such discrimination and such hate until i went down south and being from brooklyn where it is extremely diverse, i thought nothing of chatting with whomever, well the black people thought i was trash and acted disgusted towards me speaking to them and the white people were sooo honky and ignorant! its like a whole different world down there. this might finally open peoples eyes up to the realization that not everyone is intergrated and as accepting as it is here in nyc. this will show that regardless of color all people shoud lbe treated equally and should be viewed int he judicial system as the same. its sickening that in 2007 these racial issues are still dividing people, why cant we all get along??? i have nothing against any class of people.

Yes, racism is very much alive and thriving. It must be stopped. Children live what they learn. In the meantime, our troops are dying because they are on a mission from the government in other countries and trying to teach those people how to get along while our country is about to engage in a civil war. It's a joke! Right?
