How does a society go from a capitalist society to a communist society?

Very slowly....

Communism and Capitalism are both economic models -- they determine who owns property. Neither inherently has anything to do with how laws get made, and both could exist just as easily in a tyranny or in a democracy, or anything in between.

To transition from capitalism -- where all property is privately owned -- to communism -- where all property is owned by the govt -- usually requires a gradual shift in control, where the govt takes over more and more of the industry, and imposes more and more regulation of private property -- eventually ending up with the govt owning everything.

The other way is a massive seizure and coup -- where the govt just takes everything at gun point and tells everyone that all property is now owned by the govt.

In order to make the transition a country must TOTALLY change.....

Thru seizure of the "means of production" (corporations, businesses, etc) are taken over by the government. All private companies are taken over and placed under state control. that way no individual really owns any business.

Under communism personal wealth is seized and then redistributed amongst a country's citizens.

The takeover of all media is common in any communist revolution. In order for communists to really root out that capitalist mindset they begin to change everything you read, see, and hear. Every form of media becomes centered around the "revolution" and "class struggle". Signs, billboards, pictures, statues, art.. all become about motivating the people to work towards that Communist Society. (if you've ever traveled to Eastern Europe for example you'll see lots of leftover statues/art of the communist movement)

Education also falls under state control. Communists belive our generation (ones raised under capitalism) are already corrupted by the capitalist system, so they focus on molding the youth into obediant, morally superior socialists. this is done from the time they are little children. Its a way to drill equality into their minds.

There are two ways I can see this happening:

1) A revolution - which implies a military style takeover that removes the elected body and replaced it with an elite class chosen by a supreme leader.

2) Gradual Conversion - slowly create reasons within a society that you must become dependent on the government to exist. This could be in the form of education, health care, child care, medicare, with the gradual intent of proving to the general population that you are incapable of existing on your own without some 'super group' that knows what is best for you and will take care of you for life if you just give up your individual freedoms.

Not directly. Freedom is eroded little by little and then the communists blame the result of the erosion of freedom on the remaining freedom itself. Fascism is no different.

That's why communism came about in feudal, agrarian Russia and China, not in countries where the industrial revolution had taken hold.

Marx was wrong about capitalism "creating" an underclass. It creates wealth on a much larger scale, and that wealth is often concentrated, but almost everyone has more wealth than he used to have or otherwise would. You have $100K instead of $50K but because someone else has $100 million you start to think of $100K as being not enough.

Also when you have one capitalist, wealth-creating, opportunity-creating society near several socialist societies, individuals who are kept poor in those socialist societies migrate, legally and illegally, to the free one. They then have children in their new home. Thus the poor population increases.

And socialists in the free society falsely claim that the increase in poor people means that the free society is creating poor people, to get people to support socialism.

It's easy, by propaganda ofcourse!!! Capitalists don't give enough wages to the workers, but in communism , the profit is equally shared, capitalists give enough money enough for harsh living, you cannot expect that to happen in communism, But ofcourse, you don't want a damn capitalists become the head of Communists, then it will become like lenin and stalin who didnt want the main ideals to spread through.

Organized units of the labor force begin to seize more and more of the decision-making powers of industry, and the general population elect socialists to the government who will begin setting legal precedences for workers' self-management and other modes of instituting communal property/capital.

The question of violence, guns, force, etc., is entirely irrelevant. Just reactionary nonsense. In a violently oppressive state, like in czarist Russia, such measures were necessary, whether it be the Communists who organized the disgruntled populace or not. Moving the decision-making powers within capital does not necessarily require violence. Look at Venezuela, who are building socialism in their own way, according to their unique historical situation, and without violence.

Karl Marx claimed that it takes capitalism to very quickly create enough material things in life to free man from the means of production inducing a 'communist awakening experience' Karl Marx dubbed: The dictatorship of the proletariat. (Proletariats are workers and bourgeoisie are owners).

So according to Marx a transition period to communism begins with capitalism supplying all the material goods to make people free from the capitalistic means of production, and once people have all their material goods they will settle down into a commune-istic life style.

One of the many flaws of 'Marxism' is the unrealistic view of human behaviour, the people are automatons and don't think, they only respond to economic stimuli. The economic determination of human behaviour is the erroneous premise of Marxism and communism.

In the past, it was a choice that societies made through violent revolution. Currently, we're doing it by selling out capitalism to Corporations, and by making security from vague threats a higher priority than human rights.

There are people out there who want to have control over everything - reword what the constitution really says so they can run around and live like they don't have to go by the rules they had set for everyone else.
