vaar is correct. they were created at the anchor bar in buffalo. WE, the inhabitants of buffalo, never call them buffalo wings. just wings. and the sauce is what people think gave it the name, but its the city. the traditional sauce is just frank's red hot (made by the same family who owns anchor bar) and butter. deep fry the bird, toss in the sauce, serve it with bleu cheese, voila.

Are you joking? The wings are chicken wings. They are called Buffalo wings because the style of sauce they frequently use originated in Buffalo.
By the way, you are in the wrong category.

I hope you are joking. Did you ever see that Pizza commercial w/ Jessica Simpson? I believe the origin of Buffalo wings refers to the city of Buffalo, NY and the type of sauce that the wings are flavored with. It is a flavor of sauce created in Buffalo.

A lady was making a snack for her son and his friends. She had already closed her restaurant, fried up some chicken wings she had on hand and tossed them with Franks Red Hot sauce and vinegar. This was in Buffalo New York....served them to her son and friends and the rest is history!

they were invented here in Buffalo, New York. Here we generally refer to them as wings or chicken wings... buffalo wings is what the rest of the country calls them.

They were sold to tailgaters at Buffalo Bills games for charity in the eighties. Chicken wings have marinate of pepper sauce and blue cheese dressing applied and then are flash fried in hot oil. Mighty good with beer in cold weather.
