Rumiko Takahashi is the mangaka. She has been making new inuyasha chapters since the anime ended. It is up to the producers to see if they will ever continue the series.

Sadly they are not going to make any more episodes. Because Rumiko takahashi had a probably with the anime studio. The cartoon was keeping up with the manga at a fast duration when she had not finished yet.

Although the rights and property of Inuyasha belong to Rumiko Takahashi, it is actually up to Sunrise and Viz whether they want to continue with the anime. However, neither of them are interseted in making any more Inu movies or episodes. It's ashame. I personally would like to see more episodes and movies. I'll settle for the manga.
