Am I the only one tired of reading stupid posts from modern day hippies, college students that want to fight authority, or just ignorant people.
Am I the only one tired of reading the stupid comments about Bush being compared to Hitler, Blackwater being called mercenaries, people not understanding why 6 kids are in jail for severely beating another kid, anti government rhetoric, police hating, and other ignorant posts?
These people need to educate themselves, grow up, gain some life experience, and think critically of things they read, and put down the pot.
Don't get me wrong, I support freedom of speech, I helped defend it. Everyone with a head on their shoulders sound off!

My thoughts exactly, expcept you said it way better than I would have been able to.
There are 2 sides to every story.
Let's add government conspiracy theories??? Are people out there really that bored?

I also helped defend the Constitution of the United States by serving proudly in the aremd forces. I also consider myself to be intelligent and posess common sense. Being intelligent I know better than to label those with different opinions as stupid. To do so is to define the word itself. Having put myself at great risk in defending the constitution I strongly resent the incursions on that document made by this administration.
For the record, I am educated, grown up , have 50 years of life experience, think critically and do not smoke pot. What differentiates us is that I do not make inane, immature judgements and generalizations of people I just happen to disagree with.

conservative views are not as bad as fascism but an intense study will show similarities...but there are similarities between the Nazi regime and communism and socialism too
you have never lived in the Middle East i suspect nor have you witnessed private security
i doubt that the Blackwater people are acting as true mercenaries (which I have witnessed in Africa and South America), but i can tell you that private security is often overzealous
i am again, speaking about what I KNOW
i have been to Jena Louisiana not once but several times
it is a racist place where tension has been brewing (unseen as per usual by nonblack people) for some time
a schoolyard fight is not assault
as i have said several times...IF YOU HAVE EVER BEEN ASSAULTED, YOU KNOW THE DIFFERENCE...AND I DO
i have seen worse odds in schoolyards in this country, Brazil, Lebanon, Ireland, and the Phillipines
the people who have views opposing to yours may indeed be exaggerating, but you ALSO don't know of what you speak
I am quite educated and well traveled and know that what is printed in my newspaper, said on my television, and that my government and established authorities in general are not always correct

Bush - throughout all the flak he's taken in his terms, he's remained firm in his resolve.....I've always just thought he was a nut and therefore always laughed at him but respected him because he was "our" nut, the president and unless he was openly admitted to running the country into the ground, I refused to believe it, his opponents are merely using the "war" as hot topic to try and get Republicans out the White House to end the war and that's foolish because war is never going to end by conventional means
Jena 6 - personally, I think most ppl are just outraged about the possible sentence than the arrest.........of course, with a "black man" running for president, the liberal media is looking for any fuel to fan the racial fires and it's unfortunate for the accused and the victim that they're being "sacrificial lambs" in that
anti-government/establishment/etc is just a way of life and noone reallys pays attention to them because they're usually just ranting for airtime........police hating stems mostly (IMHO) from the Rodney King incident (some ppl cant forget) and incidents like that college kid up that was repeatedly tasered after cooperating with campus security (check youtube for the vid)........
all in all, we're missing the point as you put it, that we're all entitled to our opinions and views and just because we dont all agree doesnt mean we should go bashing one another, but I guess that's a symptom of "free speech"
God Bless

Interesting rant, but I agree with you to a degree. The comparisons are vast and just not realistic.
Not understanding that the boy committed a crime and are being duly punished for the crime baffles me.
I've always said an education is a good thing - especially education gained outside of the mainstream media sources.

If you truly support freedom of speech, you have answered your own question, save for why you bother to read commentary that disagrees with your own.
The purpose of this site is to ask questions and express opinions via one's answers.
If everyone had identical feelings, say those that precisely matched your OWN, would it remain interesting to do nothing but to agree with one another?
Edit: I starred your question as being quite intriguing, and am anxious to see the other input.
