No, Thankfully I haven't (for them that is).

They shouldn't be talking on the phone while they have a customer anyway. Unless they are getting something for the customer they are serving. It is in there training.

It is Rude, Unprofessional and should be reported. They are there to do a job, they should be doing it! Without us there valued customers they would not have a job. Because we provide the profit to pay there wages.

It happens in Australia too.

Yes especially at Zellers and also at The Bay! It tends to happen when I'm in a rush too. Never when I have plenty of time on my hands! It's likely the ones that never had any training that do too much chatting. Who else? If I did anything and got the person fired she or he would pop up at some other place and do the samething there! So I just let them be and don't go to the till where that person is! If she or he is the only one. cashier in the store . then I stop shopping that place!

My boss lady does that. She and her husband have opened up a new store, so she is running the store that I work at now, and we have lost ALOT of customers because her. That is all the lady does, is talk on her phone. She will make the customers stand there for very long periods of time while she talks to her family in India. I find it exceptionally rude and don't even know why the customers stand there, I wouldn't if I were them, I'd go the tenth of a mile down the road to the next store. Some of our customers will wait until the evening when she has left to come, just so they won't have to deal with her, it's pathetic.

No yet I worked for years as a cashier and a supervisor at convenience shops. It sucks once you have somebody yelling at you for something which you probably did not do, generally however cashiers comprehend that once somebody is having a bad day they are going to finally end up taking it out on them. somebody who's stable at their activity would be waiting to calm the guy down and pass on. you does not have faith the dissimilar issues I quite have heard human beings yell at cashiers for.

omg, i used to be a cashier supervisor, and i dont know what these people are thinking. they would be ringing up a customer and texting at the same time. the place that i worked at (home depot) it was against the rules to even have your cell on the sales floor, but they did anyway.. i had to talk to many many cashiers about it. but they just waited till i walked away to keep playin around.

No, report the worker. There are other people who really need a job for a living. If that cashier cant do his job, step aside. There are other people who need to eat.

They should ban cell phone use by cashiers. I've been ignored several times by cashiers talking to friends on cell phones. This is not good business.

Next time, hopefully she will learn cause customers always come first...Customers pay her to do her job and do it in a timely manner!! Here's a star by the way

Once and I moved her out of the way and rung up my own stuff. Manager fired her and hired me. I worked at Piggly Wiggly for almost 3 years.
