We just want to know what its like or if there is anything comprable around Denver, CO? We like the idea that its away from teh city, but we dont know much about Denver and the area. Boulder is too expensive and not really what we want.....help? advice? we are also Catholic and wonder about the schools near there and grocery stores, etc! :)

Thanks!

I lived in the Evergreen area years ago (and graduated high school there). Nice community -- of course, it's been quite built-up in the intervening years. Schools are in the Jefferson County district. I know there's at least one Catholic church, Christ the King, and I believe also an Anglican church. Shopping is plentiful in and around the community and of course the Denver suburbs nearby. I'm not sure how the real estate market is there now ... but it was always a little higher price-wise than Denver and to be honest, probably on a par with Boulder. But that may have changed. Hopefully someone who still lives in the area will see this and give you up-to-date info.

My friend raised her family in Evergreen. Her children were bored there. It is between ski towns and the city, so unless you can drive the highway, it is away from most everything.

It is a middle-upper middle class town. Castle Rock does have a view of the mountains as do most towns surrounding Denver. You would probably want to check out Highlands Ranch, Cherry Hills Village and Golden. We live in Littleton which has the best high schools although there are other good school districts too.

Columbine High School is in the same school district as Evergreen, Jeffco. Littleton is a separate school district. Cherry Hills is in Cherry Creek School district.

You can get Colorado school report cards online.

Denver may be the enjoy where in fact the sparkle can sunshine 300 days of year. Denver is a thriving national world, varied neighborhoods, and normal splendor mix for the world's most spectacular playground and with hotelbye you can see how to get there. Denver is the spot for: World-class attractions, organic miracles, successful arts world, a large number of modern and acclaimed restaurants and nightlife choices galore. Denver definitly started using it all. In Denver you are able to look at the Mount Evans and the Mount Evans Highway. The Mount Evans Highway is just a seasonal path which will be shut all through the wintertime weeks

Evergreen is a Nice town in the foot hills. but over an hours ride to Denver on some very windy roads through the canyons. Mostly a tourist town. Very pricey to live there.
I live in castle Rock. It's a great town , love it here and you can see almost the entire front range. (mountains) .Go to

Nice little town. Pretty far up in the foothills (7300 v. 5300), so substantially more winter than in Denver. Of course summers will be more pleasant, Denver can get hot. 4WD is an absolute must. Plenty of people, stores, churches, etc. Not all that much cheaper than Boulder, though.

Personally I wouldn't want to live in Evergreen if I was commuting to Denver. During the winter that won't be fun.

If you want to be far out from Denver, Castle Rock is nice, cheaper, and at lower altitude.

Note that downtown Denver is not 45 minutes in rush hour.
