Yes they do! I wouldn't say ALL but I would say MOST. I have had several occasions where I have done nothing illegal and cops gave me a hard time. Here's some of the occasions:
One time a friend and I went for a walk late at night. At the time I was 22 and he was 23...so of course we weren't past curfew or anything. Because it was late, I guess the cop thought he should stop us...that I can understand and I wasn't angry about. However, he made us feel like we were criminals... he took our licenses. At the time I lived about 15 minutes from my friend but it was in the country so whenever you are going anywhere, you ae looking at driving a distance. He got in a big fit, saying "What are you doing down here, when you live here?" I guess it's against the law to drive 15 minutes to see a friend? THEN he searched us... he found nothing of course and then told us we HAD to go home! I just don't get that.
Another time I was sitting outside my friend's apartment complex waiting for her. I guess because it's an apt. complex the police patrol there often...which is a good thing. However, I'm parked in a parking space and all of a sudden I hear my name going across a radio... I look back and I see a cop writing me a ticket. I get out of the car and ask him what the deal is. He tells me cars aren't allowed to be parked and running at the same time?!?! Honestly, I gave him an attitude because there's crime and drug dealer and alot worse going on and I don't see why me being parked in a spot while my car is running to be illegal. Then he tells me because of my attitude he is going to issue the ticket! I didn't know cops could give tickets for an attitude!
One other time... I had a cop spit chewing tobacco on my shoes... yes, it's true and disgusting... and didn't even apologize after i screamed in disgust. I guess they're better than everyone in their eyes.

any community service type job such as police, fire and ems is extremely stressful. Some days are bad and others are good. So yes some do snap and abuse their power. there are also bad apples. Most police officers are good people who just want to do their job and go home but every now and then there are bad judgements either unintentionally or intentionally. Id say some dont mean to cross the line but its a fine judgement a lot of times and the officer has to make that call right then and their for their safety. Hard to say unless you are that officer or witness the entire situation.
Alot of criminals also scream police brutality for no reason i was a EMT and we had a criminal purposly trip and then tried saying we threw him down the stairs. Meanwhile the entire ambulance ride he threatened our lives and the lives of our family. Luckily we were just laughing it off but there is only so much a person can take and sometimes people snap after incident after incident.

I believe a minority of the police do on a consistent basic. You give some humans authority and they'll abuse it. I think some use too much force in certain situations. They are just humans and lets say they are put in a dangerous situation of a police chase. A person has disobeyed their authority and put them and other innocent people at risk. So when the officer finally gets the guy his adrenaline and frustration are running high. So it's easy to go overboard with restraining a suspect.

any community provider type interest collectively with police, fireplace and ems is extremely annoying. some days are undesirable and others are good. So definite some do snap and abuse their ability. there are additionally undesirable apples. maximum law enforcement officials are good people who purely want to do their interest and flow dwelling house yet each and every now and then there are undesirable judgements the two accidentally or intentionally. identity say some dont propose to bypass the line yet its a great judgement an excellent form of situations and the officer has to make that decision good then and their for their secure practices. complicated to assert until you're that officer or witness the entire concern. Alot of criminals additionally scream police brutality for no reason i replaced right into a EMT and we had a offender purposly holiday and then tried saying we threw him down the stairs. meanwhile the entire ambulance experience he threatened our lives and the lives of our kin. fortuitously we've been purely guffawing it off yet there is largely plenty a guy or woman can take and each now and then human beings snap after incident after incident.

No, I think most people mis-understand the Police, and have somehow contacted them in a negative manner. Cops do not wake up in the morning and think " I sure hope I get to Fk with somebody today"...it's just the opposite. They would also like a trouble free day, just exactly what they usually don't get. I'll make you a promise-in the way of an 'experiment'. Take any group of people, I don't care who they are- Nuns, Leftists, Librarians...whoever...and make them 'The Police'. Come back in 5 years and I GUARANTEE you they will be just that- The Police. Because the job defines what you do, not the other way around. ***resqh...Fire/Medic also....people won't like our answers...you know the street truth

Of course they are capable of it. They are, indeed, human.
As far as the extent, though. I've found the general public to be extremely fickle when it comes to police use of force. I've seen instances where police were assaulted, they retaliated, and they were accused of abusing authority.

They sure do and I've seen it plenty of times. I mean yea, there are nice cops but most are a**holes. The other day my little brother got his first ticket because he was only going 5 miles over the speed limit. Then one time at the club this one guy was trying to get in right away because his sister was inside about to get jumped or something, cops wouldn't let him in for some reason. They beat him on the ground, pulled his hair and tasered him. It was pretty bad for an innocent guy trying to get to his sister to see if she's ok.

I just saw a video of a woman getting repeatedly tasered . That's abuse !
There are cops that get away with Rape too .
Its because the police dept. cant afford to get a bad reputation . ALOT of stuff gets covered up and 95% of video footage of cops abusing there athority gets dismissed at court when the cops are aquited .
They always get paid leave too .
I know this because my proffesor was the police cheif of L.A county for 20 years

Police are just humans, all are not the same. Some do a very good fair job, some are"bad" cops. Just like any other job. They are very underpaid for the risks they take everyday.
