Reading a book by Robert Anton Wilson can be very entertaining, it you can catch all of the allusions that he uses. His books contain lots of humor and jokes about the way that things seem to be. If you like to get a different view of why things happen, then have some fun and give him a read. Just remember that he is a Discordian. He believes in Chaos so that underlines all of his writings.

Guerrilla ontologist (Ontology is the philosophical study of the nature of being, becoming, existence, or reality, as well as the basic categories of being and their relations),Psychedelic magician. Quantum psychologist, Sit-down comic/philosopher or Discordian Pope. Whatever the label and rank, Robert Anton Wilson is undeniably one of the foundations of 20th century Western counterculture. This film is cinematic alchemy that conjures it all together in a hilarious and mind-bending journey guaranteed to increase your brain size 2-3 inches. From the water coolers and staff meetings of Playboy magazine and the earth-shattering transmission of “The Illuminatus! Trilogy”, to fire-breathing senior citizen and Taoist sage, Robert Anton Wilson was a man who passed through the trials of Chapel Perilous and found himself on wondrous ground where nothing is for certain, even the treasured companionship of a six-foot-tall white rabbit.

I've read (and enjoyed) The Illuminatus Trilogy, Schroedinger's Cat, Masks of the Illuminati, and a few others I can't recall offhand. I'm never quite sure how to describe RAW's work - a satire of higher consciousness, perhaps? Keep in mind that it's meant to be comic, not serious; and that comedy is the highest form of seriousness. Have fun.

Yep, read a few (before I got I guess a little tired of it). None of the novels--Cosmic Trigger was the first one, and a hoot. I especially loved the thing about the Simonton pancakes. And the part about the death of his daughter was just devastating. He was also interesting discussing his editorial work at Playboy magazine.
