We all know ARod is the AL MVP by a mile, but who is the the NL MVP? Theres no clear cut best team in the NL, theres no clear cut best player, so theres obviously no clear cut MVP. Here are my candidates for NL MVP, on teams that have playoff chances:

Prince Fielder MIL: 47 Homers, 112 RBIs, 102 Runs, .289 BA, 149 GP <--(was suspended for 3 games though, so it should be more).

Jimmy Rollins PHI: 153 Games played, 199 hits, 89 RBIs, 37 SBs, 28 HRs, 130 R, .294 AVG. (Better all around stats than Jose Reyes).

David Wright NYM: 150 GP, 178 Hits, .318 BA, 30 HRs, 31 SBs, 103 RBIs, 40 2B, 103 Runs.

Matt Holliday COL: 36 HR, 150 GP, 112 Runs, 205 Hits, 131 RBIs, .339 BA, .614 SLG. (team still has a chance, a small one, but a chance).

And for the 5th candidate, I cant really choose, but I have: Jose Reyes, Aramis Ramirez, Ryan Howard, Chase Utley, and for non playoff teams, Dmitri Young, Chipper Jones, and Miguel Cabrera.

My vote goes to Jimmy Rollins if the Phillies make the playoffs, but to Matt Holliday if they Phillies dont make the playoffs.

If I had to guess, it would be Fielder, because the power hitters always seem to get the glory, even eclipsing the guy with the highest batting average.

Well, that is a great bunch of candidates to choose from and I can't say I have a strong opinion.

But what is really great are these statistics:

Prince Fielder, 23 yearls old, 2nd season
Jimmy Rollins 28 years old, 7th season
Matt Holliday, 27 years old, 4th season
David Wright, 24 years old, 4th season
And throw in Ryan Braun, 23, 2nd season

What a great group of young players!

And we didn't even mention that old man, Albert Pujols, who is probably the best hitter in the NL and is having a way substandard year from him that probably is equal to some of the MVP front runners you mentioned (.321 31 95)

Thats a lot of great, great talent that's come into the league in recent years and that is very exciting.

I want either David Wright or Jose Reyes to win it but it might go to Jimmy Rollins, Matt Holliday, or Prince Fielder.

My gut feeling says Rollins just because he has exceptional defense at a skill position and is still putting up career numbers, which for an all star like Rollins is saying something. Fielder plays 1st base, NOT a skill position, but his power (as has sadly been in the past) might earn him the MVP. If the Mets continue to play like this, I really don't see Wright getting the fair consideration he deserves. Holliday is another very deserving candidate, but come on, he plays corner outfield. That's not demanding at all. But his numbers are just outlandish. Take the skill position guys and give it to Rollins.

I think David Wright would be a great choice but it all depends on how the Mets do these last few games. If they make it to the playoffs I think he will be the NL MVP. If they don't make it I would say that Prince Fielder is the next best choice.

I was on the Byrnes bandwagon a few weeks ago, but now by vote would go to Holliday. He is having an amazing season whether or not his team makes the playofs. I'd say he is having the 3rd best season this year behind Arod and Magglio.

Jimmy Rollins with Matt Holliday a very close second........and it kills me not to have Chase Utley or Aaron Rowand at the top of that list but i think JImmy has the best chance

if the Brewers don't make the playoffs, you can forget about Fielder. IF the Rockies do, then give it Holliday.
As of this morning, 2nd in the league in average, and 1st in RBIs.

Although, me personally, I like Wright.
Vamos Los Mets!
