He passed it sometime this morning and is currently at 1828. Ron Paul is getting 4-5% in the "scientific" polls, is winning nearly every GOP straw poll, is winning virtually every online poll, and is clearly the most popular candidate on the Internet.

Does this prove he is for real? If not, what would prove that he is for real?

amnesty sucks: You've got your facts wrong. I saw that Rasmussan poll and it stated that Ron Paul and a few other candidates all have 4%, not that they have 1%. Besides that, it also clearly stated that Thompson, Giuliani, and Romney were not as solid as their support says. Therefore, you cannot say that any Republican candidate has no chance (though Hillary has the Democrat nomination locked up).

Quite frankly, the only way Dr. Paul has a chance is if the real conservatives get tired of the other GOP (big socialist loving government) candidates and drop their support for them.

It sure does prove that Ron Paul is for real! He's the most popular candidate on the Internet! He wins in all those straw polls! And those "scientific" Internet polls... forget about it!
He'll win the 2008 election in a landslide!
Hold on a minute, I'm going to look at his website at .... Holy ****!!!! This guy is crazy! OMG! And he's going to win in 2008! We're doomed!!!!

Ron Paul has more integrity than all the other candidates combined. 1787 is the year the Constitution was signed. What other campaign celebrated the Constitution the way the Ron Paul Revolution did?

Nice facts amnesty sucks, Note that your candidate doesn't even bother to show up to the debates.. and you continue to ignore the fact that the Washington times and immigration2008.com both showed Thompson's voting record as being pro amnesty...

That being said... Yes he is for real... Look at the statistics.. most Americans do not support this war... A pro war candidate is simply unelectable.. If republicans want someone from their party in office, he is the only one who meets the majority view on that particular issue.. The Iraq war is a major issue. there is too much anti-war sentiment to elect a candidate who is pushing for more of Bush's failed policies.. The problem is Ron Paul needs more exposure..

I'll vote for him. I know that's only one but if any of the rest win the sell out of America will be complete and go the way of the Roman Empire.
So enjoy what's left of America. Your children will never know the real America. Crime, drugs, greed, and war will be what America stands for until the end.

No, it doesn't prove that he's for real. If you want proof that he's for real, or that he has actual support nationwide, then some proof needs to be offered besides straw polls, and the dedication of his Internet brigade. For some reason, it just isn't translating to support for him on a national level. His supporters like to blame the media, but the media provides more coverage for those candidates who are the most popular and have the most nationwide support. It's not their fault that he can't seem to get to that point.

NO! NOT A SNOWBALL'S CHANCE IN TEXAS! Money is important but voters that support him are much more important - based on this, he is a non-issue and NOT for real.

The most accurate "scientific" poll is Rasmussen. Paul is not even mentioned. (see link below) A couple of days ago they mentioned that Paul split 4% of the vote with 3 others. That means he's at about 1%. The highest I have ever seen him was at 3%. However, even IF he had 5%, that is still NOTHING! Your statement proves he can't win!

Internet polls, even if he is winning "virtually every online poll," are totally meaningless. Straw polls are again meaninless. AND, he has not won every straw poll. You supporters keep claiming he won the meaningless Iowa poll but even Paul's website said he came in 5th!

I doesn't matter IF he is the most popular on the Internet. What matters in in the ballot box. Paul will not win!

I know that you will give me a "thumbs down" however my statements are totally based on FACTS! Your statements about him winning aren't!!!!!!

Honestly. I had never even heard his name before I came on Yahoo answers today. I'd have to say that doesn't bode well for him.

Assuming it it true, it is evidence that his campaign staff can count to 1787.
