Okay first of all never Windex! I use 3M Notebook Screen Cleaning Wipes. I've been using these wipes for over a year now and I will not use anything else. Just recently I bought 4 packs online at amazon.com. 24 come in a pack. They are cheap ($4.84) and work very well. It's safe on your screen and leaves it without streaks. You can also try 3M Microfiber cleaning cloth just to get those everyday finger prints/dust off. Those also work very well.

A soft cloth (cotton or microfiber are good) dampened with a little water.

If the water is not removing the marks try a soft soap solution (liquid hand soap is good)

If that does not work then try the same cloth dampened with iso-propyl alcohol.

Do not use paper towels. They are actually quite abrasive and repeated use will scratch and abrade the surface treatments. Especially for the glossy screens.

Do not use dish detergent. This contains abrasives and will scratch and abrade the screen too.

WIndex and other household cleaners can contain a variety of chemicals that can attack the surface treatments and the plastic of your screen and laptop.

Why might attempting to bathe with a moist finger paintings ? merely use a sparkling textile and the two damp it with meths or a perfect keyboard cleansing fluid . For God's sake don't get the keys soaking moist or you would be up the creek without a paddle !
