To tell the truth, I've never seen/heard O'Reilly. I think as with all such people they play to a limited number of people with limited points of view or ability to reason.

Enjoy your drink. I've never liked it myself, always preferred iced tea in warm weather since we first heard about it in the middle 1950's.

it's a reference to the cult of Jonestown, where the leader forced his followers to drink koolaid laced with a deadly poison

I suppose there is a Lawyer someplace who'd be happy to make that argument.
Personally, I am reminded of the JonesTown Massacre.
I don't really think Koolaid.

Of course O'reilly could just say, "No, I didn't say Koolaid! I said Coolaid, you PinHead!"

No. It is a reference to someone who follows a group or leader mindlessly. It goes back to Rev. Jim Jones and his large number of followers of the Peoples Temple who killed themselves in 1978. It was rumored that they drank their poison in Kool-aid.

See this brief excerpt from Wikipedia:

"James Warren "Jim" Jones (May 13, 1931 – November 18, 1978) was the American founder of the Peoples Temple group, which became synonymous with group suicide after the November 18, 1978 mass murder - suicide by poison in their isolated agricultural intentional community called Jonestown, located in Guyana. Nine hundred and thirteen (913) people drank cyanide after Jones ordered his men to kill visiting Congressman Leo Ryan and numerous members of his entourage."

Just wait -- it won't be long before the ACLU comes out in favor of the company that makes Kool-Aid for slander, product defamation, and anything else they can conjure up as a violation of our Constitution (whether it really is a violation or not).

As in sheeple following Bush, blindly!

DRINK!

As for the ACLU? If you were unjustly accused of a crime, you would be damned glad to have them behind you! Moron!
