With An Interview With Rolling Stone 50 Cent said he got in the business to make money. He doesn't care about music at all. It's all about "diversifying your portfolio". His CDs are just one more product of the 50 Cent Corporation, including clothing, perfume, Vitamin Water, etc

i Just lost Even More Respect For Him After He Dissed Pac/Nas/Jay-Z/Biggie

Hes just being brutally honest. Many rappers really are in just for the money. Look at what Nas Did to Cormega.

50 is a sell out rapper. If you look up the definition in the dictionary his pic would be there smile and shyt. I have never purchased a 50 album (not even bootlegged), any of his crappy azz g-unit clothes, and not have had one sip of his nasty azz vitamin water. And in no way shape or form would I want to smell like anything he finds sexy attractive or appealing. And never will.

It looks like his portfolio is being made for person to think ohhh this is what rap is, NO. The sad thing is these suburban kids are feeding into it.

Who else can't wait for the new Jay and Nas I getting them both.

Damn!! I at least had a little respect for him, but now all of that has gone. Sure he is an exceptional business man, but this quote can probably tarnish his rep as a rap artist. He has no love for the music, which mean he has no reason to make anymore of it. Yes it is always a money thing, but people usually get into it first because of their love for it. If he does not have that then I do not see why people should continue to support him as an artist. He has the audacity to talk about other artist who love it. He is a ***** for that.

i think it was pretty obvious what he was in here for

i mean just look at him
his debut album had him saying how he was gonna rob 200 people
his second album he started a highly publicized beef with ja rule
he has made beef ( 90% of them highly publicized) with just about every single rapper under the face of the earth from az to fat joe to nas to the game
and his latest he starts a "i bet i can sell more then you competetion"

50 cent came into this world to make money and thats exactly what he did.
2 things i cannot understand though
1. how so many people cannot see that hes in this for the money and make like everytime he does something for publicity "how much a disrespect to hip hop he is" hes no more of a disrespect to hip hop then those cooperation bastard that hardly make millions off of selling crap hop to the children and no one ever bitches about them. Time after time i get sick of hearing"did you hear what 50 cent said about _____, 50 cent is the worst rapper ever, 50 cent sold out, ________ is going to end 50s career" its sickening nothing he says is truthful and i highly doubt he means any of it, its all a game to him and so far hes winning.
2. why he approached this kanye west **** the way he did, i think he should have just started dissing him, say he has more money and is more hood like usual and just itensify it like the game beef, instead of this i can sell more then you and if not i will retire bullshit.

on a scale of 10 of respect for 50 cent i have a 9 for him he lost a point for this kanye bullshit, next time 50 use your brain.

I'm not suprised at all, its 50 cent... the n*gga NAMED HIMSELF after money! lol and he shoulda name is first cd "get rich, turn into a walking billboard, and stop tryin" Everytime you see him he either decked out in G unit clothes, sippin on some vitamin water, playin his wackass video game, etc., etc... *I AM* however suprised and shakin my head at him dissin Pac/Nas/Jay-Z/Biggie cuz I thought he at least had *SOME DIGNITY* when it came to other rappers... Biggie and Pac are dead, so what possible advantage could you get from dissin them??? Seriously thats about as low as you can get... 50 is a terrible representative of hip hop.

He's just a nucca from the streets that has found his hustle...and I have to say he's damn good at it. He stopped being a rapper after his first CD. Once he saw how easy the money was, his career as a rapper was basically over, figuratively speaking. It's about making money nowadays. Sad, but true.

No matter how much I love this music...I cannot hate on a black man who successfully did what the industry is designed to do an artist...and that is RAPE IT....cuz 50 RAPED THE INDUSTRY HARD...on the music side there are lots of guys just like him...he just had the intelligence to do what a lot of them talk about doing...and for that I give him mad props...

People do music for the love or for money....and he obviously gets money...It is good when you can make music for the love AND get money but it doesnt always work out like that...

so like they say dont hate the player...hate the game

I used to hate the player until I realized maybe I should study his moves...

and I would never sell out for some cash so dont get my comments twisted...

How you gonna hate the man because he is about his cheese. Anyone with a brain knows that you cant rap forever so music has set him up to do other ventures and make money doing other stuff. Its like a person working a 9 to 5 job. You go to work everday but you have to know you are not gonna work forever so you set up options, Stocks, Bonds, ETC. to make the money you have work for you.

I think people can hate him but he is one of the smartest rapper/business men in the game period outside of Diddy, and Jay-Z.

My question is how can you hate someone for being smart enough to realize he cant rap forever and that there is bigger money and opportunity outside of the music. 50, Jay, and Diddy should be admired for their business savvy even if you dont like them as rappers or what not. Accept the fact that they are top notch business men who know how to get MONEY.

Of course, 50 is a business man. Most Rappers can say the same thing, but they chose not to say it. I have way more respect for him as a business man than a Rapper. At least he's speaking the truth.
