Limescale is calcium carbonate, which has an alkaline pH. You need something acidic to remove limescale. White vinegar is one of the best ways to remove limescale from glasses. Bleach isn't a good option because it is also alkaline.

I fill glass with hot water and pop a sterident tablet in (denture cleaning tabs) - leave overnight and then wash as normal the next morning - gleaming!

Alternatively in the dishwasher, cut a lemon in half and pop it in the top tray when washing glasses - they come out sparkling.

I used to work as a bartender in college and the city I worked in had hard water.

We had three tubs for washing glasses: wash, limeaway and rinse.

Worked like a champ. But just get the classic limeaway and not the clr limeaway as that has more chemicals you don't need!

Try straight vinegar, if that doesn't work try making a paste of baking soda and vinegar and gently scrubbing them. Good luck!;)
