I mean, what exactly does that mean, anyway? Is it something legitimate, or is it something that some people use as an excuse when they don't want anything to do with the other person? Please, somebody enlighten me...!

i think it is legit. and it could be any number of factors.......hair color, style, height, weight, etc. I always look at it this way: nothing ventured, nothing gained. If I approach someone i find interesting, and get that line, hey, no big deal. at least i tried.

Isn't it better to find something like that out right off the bat? Instead of them waiting until you had serious feelings for them. To me that would just be cruel.
You can not have a good relationship if you are not compatible with that person. Having a few differences can be nice but you don't want to have too many. I hope this helps!

I think it means that your personalities don't "click". In a sense it means that you won't ever really get along well, be friends...
But it doesn't give a person reason to be nasty.

no ones ever said it to me but i suppose it means in loose translation, "you aren't bad looking, some people would find you attractive, but i don't"

one young lady i approached had stated this .. I guess she was being polite and didnt want to pull "the race card' .. your not my type.. i don't date black guys .. i told her her ..Im not trying to "date" you.. i ended up with her best friend and she was very very upset.
