To convert a percent to a number, you move the decimal over 2 places to the left.
So, 100% = 1
50% = .5
1% = .01
.5% = .005

there are 2 ways to turn fractions into percents. 1) set up a proportion and convert to x/100 Example: 2/3= x/100 then you do 100*2=200 divided by 3. that is wat x equals or do 100 divided by 3=x and multiply x by 2 percents are normally out of 100, so this would still make the answer 66.6% 2)divide the top number by the bottom number example: 2 divided by 3= .666 if you move the decimal point to the right 2 spaces, then add a percent sign, you have the percentage 66.6%

A percent is defined as the number of parts out of a group of 100. So to figure out what fraction a percentage is you just need to divide it by 100.
0.5% = 0.5/100 = 0.005
